Onion rings are next to the french fries too and they aren't made of potatoes.

And, well, they're not made out of potatoes. They're made out of ONIONS.

Shoreline Diner in Guilford has great fries. I think they use pimento sticks.

I don't understand how someone can cook and like a burger or steak without a small but appropriate amount of salt.

If it's seasoned right, people don't know it's seasoned at all.

Disagree if it is quality meat. People can season it on their plate. A little salt and cracked pepper is all it needs. Anybody introduces anything beyond that in a burger and it's unlikely I'll even eat it.

I agree with that but it goes on RIGHT BEFORE hitting the pan/grill/whatever. Seems to help with the outer texture.

Unlike a Steak where you want to salt and rest for a little bit before cooking (to draw moisture to surface) , you dont want to Salt a burger until the moment it goes on.

Agreed on needing nothing else.

I do Cajun blackened (with gorgonzola and roasted peppers, my wifes favorite burger) and a couple other variations some times but that is a different topic really.

The real question: is a hot dog a sandwich?
