I love the guy, but on a basketball broadcast he's an insufferable buffoonThis is Bill’s world. You are just living in it. Show some GD Respect. Thank you.
It was. I mean, I get that this is his tournament, but the man started a sneaker company. He didn't cure cancerthe espn production was horrific. the split screens were completely useless -- i thought the endless interview with phil knight was bad, but the needless shot of jay bilas stunned me.
walton is fun when your team is up by 25 though lol
As such, he should be buried and dug up on a couple thousand years.Bill walton is a national treasure
Walton is the ideal color commentator for a game you don’t actually care about or want to watch.
I think he was calling him “ Jake” lolI appreciate how he called out Jay Bilas when he said “first time in the history of the world, that Jay isn’t calling a Duke game, congrats!”
I wouldn’t say he ruins the experience. You do get the silver lining of hearing whoever he’s matched up with try desperately to keep him focused and from going too far off on his irrelevant tangents. It really adds an additional level of difficulty to the job.I would never go to a game with someone who is so humorless that Bill Walton ruins their watching experience. That’s just me. And I’ve probably went to more uconn games with the biggest list of vastly different by’ers than anyone here.
Hahaha really? I shut the game off to put my daughter to bed.He was so annoying in the last 10 minutes. As the game was over and they were transitioning to the new game he was heard on the hot mic saying stop interrupting me.
That’s a legitimate question. South Florida (USF) is in Tampa. Some of these schools are geographically challenged. He just made me laugh out loud during the Ala-Mich St. game. After the play by play guy said Alabama was leading the country in rebound margin, Bill asked who they played. He said Jacksonville, Longwood, Liberty (Bill interjected "God save us") and play by play guy continued "South Alabama." Bill asked, "That's in the southern part of the state, right?"
I thought so too.I think he was calling him “ Jake” lol
I wish he’d elaborate more on his memories of Dead shows he’s seen.I think he was calling him “ Jake” lol
Why do you think I watch weeknight pac 12 games at midnight?I wish he’d elaborate more on his memories of Dead shows he’s seen.
I’d probably ask him what his favorite live rendition of St Stephen was…Why do you think I watch weeknight pac 12 games at midnight?
He was less intrusive Tonight but he mentionioned an Oct 78 winterland ( SanFran ) show tonight. HahaI’d probably ask him what his favorite live rendition of St Stephen was…
I find him comical, I have a friend just like him.
I was yelling at the screen to take the broadcast off split screen when they were interviewing Knight. We can listen to them talk and still watch the game full-screen. We didn’t need to SEE THEM AND HEAR THEM TOO.Actually felt bad for Walton when he was trying to interview Phil Knight. That was painful.
No St Stephen at that show, but they did play Estimated Prophet. My buddy has a bunch of old CDs that he received from a man in a sauna at his local YMCA, on one of them is Prophet Hartford 5/21/77’ and that is a great version of the song.He was less intrusive Tonight but he mentionioned an Oct 78 winterland ( SanFran ) show tonight. You can recognize that Walton calling a game is absolutely awful without it "ruining" the experience. I enjoyed the game. Walton was brutal. Both can be true.I would never go to a game with someone who is so humorless that Bill Walton ruins their watching experience. That’s just me. And I’ve probably went to more uconn games with the biggest list of vastly different by’ers than anyone here.
And... ?People forget ( and it’s open for debate ) but bill Walton just may be the greatest college hoops player in the history of earth ( and if he wasn’t he’s in the list of 5)

No St Stephen there either, sort of a rare song live in the mid to late 70’s.
Ah but they did
They played two concerts at Winterland from my 3 minutes of late night research. Not sure how I missed that lolAh but they did
