Ok agree with most but on the other end of this:

Parents in political towns who coach their kids just because and don't know crap about the game (please just be an assistant or hit the stands).
Parents who take the spots of other parents who should be coaching but aren't part of the town clicksters.
Parents who coach and don't think it's appropriate for a parent to go to the fence after an at bat to let your kid know how to adjust because they are the COACH at age 8-12.
Parents who coach and think it's all in fun, just play everywhere and have fun no need to worry about winning!
Parents who you can tell never even play catch with their kids but from them off a LL because all the other kids are playing.
Did I mention parents and town clicks?;)

Half the problem is everyone wants to play 40 minutes of hell and just play 40 minutes of hack instead.

And I can’t tell you how many coaches I’ve had who don’t understand legal guarding position, verticality, or how you can get a clean block up top but foul with the body.

And also....I think I just found my 5th!Favorite poster...

Depending on the age I have no issue with the one about parents being about the kids having fun. Frankly pre 7th grade I’m ok with it.

They’re kids. They should enjoy playing the game. But that’s what rec basketball is for.

Pre-season predictions on which teams will and will not make the playoffs, especially in football. Its mostly all about which teams get lucky or unlucky with injuries...not about your analysis.

Maddening, especially now that they are at an age where they are emphasizing possession and spacing. I do my best to keep quiet on the sidelines. I'll let my kid know if he has the ball nearby that there's nobody pressuring him, but that's about it.

Blackout rules. I hated them when they couldn't sell out Patriots games back when they weren't that good and I couldn't watch them on an OTA broadcast.

Oh I get the fun part, maybe 8-10 years old but for me using LL for the example, 11-12 it's time for some to be coached a little more while still having fun. Now kids are hitting it harder and able to play the game so it always made me nervous trying to hide a kid who is there without any skills. I mean my son hit a line drive in his last year in LL to left field and the kid charged it but it hit him right in the face flattened his nose, gushing blood. He was turning his glove every which way on his way in no clue. My son felt awful as did everyone who watched it. If he can't catch at the age of 11-12 then he doesn't really want to be there. Any kid in his right mind who plays anything by that point wants to be pretty good at it you would think so they'd be out with dad, even mom or friends playing catch, pickle or something to get better.

I don't want to take away fron the "fun" ages my bad.

Last year my kid's idiot manager put someone who had never played baseball before at first base. Kid hits a slow roller back to the mound on the third base side -- pitcher picks it up, turns, and fires a strike to first. It goes right over the kid's glove and hits him in the face. I want to vomit when I think about the sound it made -- kind of a cross between a ball hitting a bat and a mud puddle -- as it hit him on the eyeball and cheekbone. Poor kid had a fractured cheekbone, all kinds of damage to his eye, and a concussion that kept him out of school until November.

In general - stupid soccer cosplay. Oh, you're playing a DAHR-by? No, you're not. It's a stupid MLS game between 2 joke franchises with a cumulative age of 20 years.

The only one i let slip is "El Traffico," because it's actually clever.

You’re not wrong, most games are DVRed (thank goodness they all fall asleep around 9), but still some games you just have to watch live.

A "few slip ups" are expected for those fully into their kids growing up and being competitive. Almost tossed from an AAU game in Troy NY when he was 13. The home Troy team was shooting 1-1 after 5 minutes first half and they had not called a foul on Troy with 8 minutes left in the first half (20 running) when we called TO I was under the basket. If you think I was going to not say anything to 3 refs within 10 yards of me you don't know me. Crack would've been proud of me LOL. Almost escorted out but believe it or not all the "quiet" parents from our team jumped down their throats out of nowhere and said I was right, they started hammering down too joining me in support of our kids getting knocked around without a whistle. My son had just joined the team and they were mostly from Springfield so I really didn't know them. Poor bastards I ruined them all for the rest of that summer LOL.

In high school I went to one of my sisters aau softball tournaments after my own baseball game, and we met this dad of one of he other girls on my sisters team. My dad and I talk to this one. He’s nice. Seems normal. There’s a bang bang play st first to end the inning and this guy turns to us and says “excuse me, I have to go give this guy shit.” And just up and leaves. We think he’s just messing around. He proceeds to head over and start berating the base ump and get tossed out of the game.

For me its when baseball announcers say "He just took a hit away from Gomez!!"

Uh, no. Gomez got out.
 
So, my in-laws are wrapping up a week long stay at my home. Good news is everyone is still speaking and no major hiccups.

But,,,,,,,,,,they don't follow sports very closely. They live in Phoenix.

Here are some comments from over the weekend.

1. While watching Cleveland vs. Detroit yesterday. TV scoreboards shows CLE and DET. My father in law says, "I know the orange team is Clemson, but who are they playing?"
2. While watching Cowboys vs. Giants, my mother in law came up with the following. "Who was the quarterback for the Cowboys when Emmitt played there? Is he still around?" I calmly answered he was the announcer for the game and no longer an active NFL player.

I won't ding them for not knowing where to find basic information from the game such as time, score, quarter, down and distance, etc since each network finds a unique way to shove as much info in to a 2"x2" box on the tv.
