As Jamelle, I think she was never recognized as teh player she was, because it was Rebecca Lobo, Jen Rizzotti, Kara Wolters, Nykeshsa years
It's not EEO if you're only looking for someone who's coached girls or women before there are lots of coaches who are great but have never coached girls or women before apparently, this requirement was not in place before Geno or our history would be quite different..just sayingSo, let the speculation begin . . . Tonya coming back?

Geno’s not done yetFor sure but she may want to add a 12 th, 13th or else to the trophy Line
With all due respect, I never made any statements regarding whether or not the coaches I listed would be actual candidates for the position. I thought it was clearly stated in my first post the coaches I listed met the qualifications of the job posting. Have a Snickers bar and relax. What exactly is the point of this exercise you're engaging in? These coaches don't meet the preferred qualifications and they wouldn't be candidates in any event!
Why does every thread on this board eventually turn crazy?
Nope. Geno’s very-specific job requirements exclude Carla, among many others. He clearly wrote this with one person in mind.I think they want Carla back to make the transition easier
The job description seems tailored for Jen Rizzotti.
UConn would need to pay her enough to lure her away from the Sun.
Whoever comes on board to help win a NC will get a lot of credit & praise going forward.
Tonya has 5 championship rings (1995, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004).Rizotti has coached in zero national championship games. Cardoza on the other hand has a couple of rings too
I think that's poorly worded & really intended to mean "has coached in multiple NCAA Tournament games."Rizotti has coached in zero national championship games. Cardoza on the other hand has a couple of rings too
I'm perfectly relaxed. We're talking about an actual job posting not a trivia question. I thought the point of the thread -- who might be candidates for an assistant coach job at UConn -- was clearly stated. I guess there are some here who might be interested to know that an 82-year old retired head coach meets the requirements for an A1 Assistant Coach position in Storrs. With all due respect, I never made any statements regarding whether or not the coaches I listed would be actual candidates for the position. Each & every NCAAT games is part of playing for the NC in the most general sense.
Otherwise it wouldn't make much sense to require that qualification.
FWIW Geno basically has enough influence to hire anyone he chooses.
You beat me to it. Good job.Hmmmm, bummer, this could drop Coach Jumper right out of it.
You may be right but I don't see how she can be groomed to be Geno's replacement.I’m pretty sure the intent is what it says. Geno already knows who he’s hiring. Just like he did with Morgan valley. Worded it just for her too
Consider the cast of characters. Why does every thread on this board eventually turn crazy?

Perhaps UConn will hire another assistant coach in the near future for that purpose.
I guess that it's just a coincidence that Cardoza's longtime assistant Way Veney, was just named to be the head coach of CCSU WBB.
It could be written to give Muffet a retirement job. I think she may be having money problemsIs Muffett working?
And you know she and Geno are best friends...You might have something there. Considering it's for an assistant, the requirements are ridiculously high. I suspect Geno will stick around for a couple more NCs and 1 more contract (much bigger, thank you Dan Hurly) but no reason to not start lining the ducks up now (especially if a duck is available now).Don't you all get it guys? The handwriting is on the wall, he's looking to groom his replacement for when he retires.
The NCAA is allowing two more coaches. Dawn and Tonya are buds from their UVA days.Dawn Staley if she wants to move ?

It's silly season. What exactly is the point of this exercise you're engaging in? These coaches don't meet the preferred qualifications and they wouldn't be candidates in any event!

I just "updated" my resume on Indeed and LinkedIn.I applied for the position yesterday. Wish me luck guys.

The “craziness” occurs because of the highly functioning hyperactive brain cells of the BYrs. Plus, it brings some laughter and smiles to our faces. What exactly is the point of this exercise you're engaging in?
