Americans Abroad

I'm not sure even Pulisic could get me to root for Real Madrid.

As an Atleti supporter, this would.., aw sh##, anywhere but there. There's already too many Ronaldo jerseys in the States...

Separately, could Sargent have some buyer's remorse? Bremen ain't lookin' too hot this year and is in line for relegation

Anyone else catch Yedlin's run leading to the first goal in the Newcastle-MU game? It really was something. He started running in earnest behind midfield and ended just inside the endline. Perfect pass for the goal. It's right at the :04 mark here.

Yep, but he's been solid all year - the Manchester clubs are machines that will make any single player on an inferior team look foolish from time to time

And Pulisic is out tonight against Spurs. Too bad, hope he gets better soon

I still say the glass is half full.

With Yedlin? For sure - he's a consistent starter on a team that can't generate too much offense and relies on the counter

That was a wild game today between Schalke and Dortmund involving Weston McKennie and Christian Pulisic. Both started but McKennie and another Schalke player were pulled at 33 minutes. By that point BVB were up 4:0 (including an own goal). After 10 yellows (two resulting in a red for Aubameyang - the attacker in front of Pulisic) the game ended 4:4 with Schalke's last goal coming at 90+5. Pulisic played the full game but was not one of the scorers.

In the German second division, Julian Green scored today as Greuther Furth attempts to climb out of danger of relegation to 3rd division. He had been out hurt and was a substitute the last game or two. Finally he started, played 90 and scored at 79 minutes in Furth's 4:0 win at home against St. Pauli. Terence Boyd scored twice for Darmstadt. Haji Wright at Sandhausen was brought in late to try to develop some attack to even up the score against Heidenheim, but his team fell 1:2. Jann George has been working his way back into Regensburg's line-up after being sidelined with a broken toe. He came in after 66 minutes and helped the Regensburgers secure a win against Duisburg, another team promoted to the Second Bundesliga just this year.

I can't wait for a McKennie-Pulisic 6-10 pairing when the time comes.

Crazy game.

Does McKennie play a 6? Or is he more an 8? I've only seen him twice, but neither time was he playing the 6. ????

He’s an 8, heard him described as more of a piano carrier than a piano player. Supposedly Schalke projects him as a 6 over the long term.

Yedlin went 90, almost had a nice assist had he timed his run correctly.

Just read some reviews of Yedlin's recent play, and it isn't good. Wouldn't be shocked if he loses his starting job soon
