What the expletive deleted is wrong with the ACC and their scheduling.

See the schedule, and then take out your anger on some souvlaki.

Only have had souvlaki once since Jacks Corner fell victim to the pandemic :(. It was fine, but paled in comparison.

Im convinced that the ACC hates Coach Lawson. Senior Night vs Chaprl Hill on a THURSDAY night? The Methodists visit the Baptists on a Thursday evening as opposed to a Sunday after church.

Haven't reviewed any of the schedules yet because of the Dream-Libery game. Oh it will be an interesting review now that I'm seeing this.

Thanks.. She needs to come to Duke. Warm weather, great fans, outstanding area for pastries, nearest Cook-Out stays open til 4:30am, what more can you ask for in a college.
If she's okay with taking occasional trips to Franklin Street, Sunrise Biscuit Kitchen is highly recommended as a breakfast-time culinary delight.

Stanford, Cal women will travel more than 23,000 miles in first ACC season (gift link, SF Chronicle)

The ACC announced its 2024-25 women’s basketball schedule Tuesday, the first season in which Stanford and Cal will be part of the East Coast-based conference.
Both Bay Area schools will play nine road games across three time zones, facing each other for a home-and-home, going to SMU once in the Central Time Zone and to seven games in the Eastern Time Zone.
Both Stanford and Cal will charter flights for women’s basketball road games this season to ease the burden of the increased travel. Last season, Stanford traveled a combined 4,581 miles to conference road games. The ACC schedule for both Cal and Stanford will total more than 23,000 miles, with 6,900-plus miles on the first trip alone to overtake last season’s total.

.-.
But think of the frequent flyer miles! :D

Stanford Womens Volleyball wins the award for most traveled team this fall -- they have 33k miles!
Sadly, on charters they won't earn squat....but hey, good study time right? ;-)

Is Duke the first ACC squad to showcase its team to the public? They did have a scrimmage tonight at the Craziness event tonight. .. But that required tickets.

They sure are making us fans get up early

Edit to the schedule. DAILY DONUTS approximately 8:39 am

Believe Louisville had their event today which included a 3x3 competition. Not sure if they had a full team scrimmage though based on what was advertised on social media.

We did, Louisville Live!
3x3 event , mix of WBB and MBB players, 3pt shooting contest, dunk contest. All the typical stuff.

Our men’s team has a new Coach who has injected energy straight to the veins of fans. The MBB program is long overdue for a return to a top program. Hoping Coach Pat Kelsey lives up to all of the hype and excitement.

Glad to hear that about the men's coach. The men's program has had a rough go of it for some time and it would be great to see them competitive again.

State lands the #1 player in NC and first commit of 2025. Shooting Guard Adelaide Jernigan.

She goes to school about 20 minutes away from me. This is the first time Ive ever heard of her. I do know that school is a basketball powerhouse.... Its the most consistently good program in NC.

Small 1-A school but have been a powerhouse! 11 State championships in the last 18 years, the Lady Villains, such a cool nickname.

Jernigan ranks 2nd in school history in points in a season with 584, 2nd in 3 pointers made in a season with 79. We'll see how her game translates to the ACC, but hopefully she can be a floor spacer, a good defender and a dead eye shooter for the Pack in years to come.

I'm going to do a deep dive when I get home from work. But I saw on Twitter that Coach Ivey kinda hype up the miles Hidalgo backcourt. I'm not gonna lie I'm pretty worried about them as a UConn fan lol. Also hoping to hear about how toby fournier is doing.

Some will roll their eyes when I say this, but the ACC team that I've been most impressed by in the offseason is Virginia Tech. Megan Thee Duffy was able to secure three really good assistants (all three starred in the ACC as players while two of them have ACC head coaching experience) and convinced "the leftovers" to not only stick around but help shape the culture of the program. Then, she was able to cobble together a decent recruiting class at the last minute. What could have been a disaster looks more like a competent bubble-esque squad. If they finish Top 6, then she should be ACC COY in a landslide.

Apparently NC State transfer Caitlyn Weimar is injured and set to miss substantial time. Really hurts the Pack. Going into the offseason Center was the biggest question mark - the Pack returns sophomore Mallory Collier who played limited minutes last season as a freshman, Liz Williamson a redshirt senior who played slightly more but is strictly a defensive minded depth piece, and they bring in a freshman out of Illinois named Lorena Awou. Weimar was the plug and play starting senior who is the Patriot League MVP and absolutely filled the biggest hole on the team.

Big loss for the Pack. Fascinated to see how they construct the rotations without her.

Coach Duffy is a 2006 Notre Dame graduate so when she's not playing her alma mater you'll see a lot of ND fans root for her and her team. She's done very well at each coaching stop and I'm sure she'll continue.

With 6 of her roster of 11 returning, Carys Baker, Matilda Ekh, Samyha Suffren, Carleigh Wenzel, Rose Micheaux, four freshmen, and a junior from Utah, Lani White, she will have her work cut out for her replacing the points from graduates and transfers. I've always thought player development was her strength this roster gives her the chance.

I'm aware of the roster construction and, as someone who followed the Big Ten the last handful of seasons (which would include watching Minnesota and Michigan State games), I'm aware of what Rose Micheaux and Matilda Ekh can bring. Both are more than capable of carrying the bulk of the scoring load and Micheaux can rebound. The only issue that I could envision Micheaux having is foul trouble (it was an issue for her at Minnesota), but I'm having a hard time identifying enough dominant post players in the ACC who could exploit that potential weakness.

The coaching staff expects to see a major jump from Carleigh Wenzel (who showed flashes of an all-around game last year) and Carys Baker (who is a capable shooter but falls in love with the 3-pointer to her detriment). Megan also mentioned Lani White as someone who can make the big leap--she and Wenzel are built like the type of guards/wings who should fare well in the ACC.

There are valid concerns, however. Someone will have to play PG (and it's going to be someone really young--Wenzel, Mackie Nelson, or Samyha Suffren), so that's going to need to be addressed sooner rather than later. Out of the four freshmen, two of them will need to be ready to contribute right away. And with a 11-player roster, depth could be an issue.

That said, the ACC is filled with teams who have a lot of question marks--to include teams at the top. There are no South Carolinas, UConns, Southern Cals, or UCLAs in this conference. I'm not seeing how teams like Virginia, Clemson, Stanford, and Miami wouldn't be in the same boat as VT--with a lot of questions to be answered. The games are played on the court for a reason.

Why would anyone roll their eyes because you are impressed with Virginia Tech's moves over the offseason? Coach Duffy is a wonderful coach, and she did a wonderful job at Marquette. I think she will do well at Va Tech if players buy in and fans are patient, she is going to continue to do well. It all comes down to effort, attitude, and players buying into what Coach Duffy's vision for the program is all about.

Thanks for sharing this clip with us. That DHO action is hard to stop once players get use to it and knocking down shots. So many options off that 3-man action. Great to see the twins back on the court together again. Hannah and Haley can straight up hoop. I can see Miami being pretty competitive.

I think she'll do well, too. I also think that Notre Dame fans believe she'll do well in the long run, so I'm not referring to them. The people I'm referring to are the ones that got their undergarments in a bunch when I referred to Liz Kitley as "generational" by ACC standards.

So Liatu King, who made 1st Team All-ACC last season playing for Pitt, has taken a step backwards and didn't make First Team now that she transferred to the Irish?;) I know, I know: Whomever voted for this couldn't see putting yet another Irish on a 10-person team.
However, King was double snubbed because she couldn't be an ACC Newcomer because she, of course, played in the ACC last year for the Panthers.

So, Liatu may have a chip on her shoulder (as if she needed any motivation).

Glad to see Citron on this list. She's so unassuming that she often flies under the radar, yet I think she might be the key to Miles and Hidalgo working whatever kinks out they might have sharing lead-guard and overall backcourt duties. Why? Citron has been wing-man for both Miles (two years worth) and Hidalgo (last season) and is the ultimate get-along-with player.

Fair critique. However it stands to reason that someone’s stats suffer as there is only 1 ball to go around. Whether it’s her or Citron or one of the guards - it’s hard to imagine 4 players will be on the all league team just because these things turn into who has the guady stats. Someone will make it simply because of how much volume and opportunity they get being on a lesser overall team.
