Drat. Wishing her a speedy recovery.

The best thing to come out of this is getting Koval more minutes than she may have with all four of their posts. Of course Maddy getting healthy is also a great thing too! She's going to be a proMaddy Westbeld has been a trooper for the Irish, never missing extended time. Save for a few games off for blows to the nose or eyes (followed by wearing a mask), she's then back in the line-up. So this injury must be one that bore serious consideration.
Coach Ivey's decision to bring in grad transfers Liza Karlen and Liatu King now looks extremely fortuitous. Having first team Big East and ACC players to handle the absence will help, to say the least.
The one pre-season Irish reality is that Kate Koval will not be brought along slowly (if that ever was the plan). She, Karlen and King will probably take the majority of the time up front, but against certain teams I could see taller/big guards playing the four (Sonia Citron, Cass Prosper). Citron did that successfully in the U-19 World Cup (making the Tourney First-Team in that capacity). King and Karlen will be most of the reps, but don't be surprised to see Citron or Prosper.
Good luck Maddy. Hope to see you soon.

Hope that's case: King and Karlen have (lots of) talent. That's a bummer. She's one of my faves, so skilled. They do have some good players who can fill in but hopefully she takes her time to get better.
Agree on all fronts, particularly that Maddy will be a pro. 6'3" solid forwards who can score from all levels, rebound and pass are not that common. Plus, her work ethic is exceptional. The best thing to come out of this is getting Koval more minutes than she may have with all four of their posts. Let all of us ACC fans sing along
I know this is gonna make me upset, so I better eat before i see the schedule
See the schedule, and then take out your anger on some souvlaki.
Haven't reviewed any of the schedules yet because of the Dream-Libery game. Oh it will be an interesting review now that I'm seeing this.Im convinced that the ACC hates Coach Lawson. Senior Night vs Chaprl Hill on a THURSDAY night? The Methodists visit the Baptists on a Thursday evening as opposed to a Sunday after church.

If she's okay with taking occasional trips to Franklin Street, Sunrise Biscuit Kitchen is highly recommended as a breakfast-time culinary delight.Thanks.. She needs to come to Duke. Warm weather, great fans, outstanding area for pastries, nearest Cook-Out stays open til 4:30am, what more can you ask for in a college.
TV is dictating this one, not the ACC, but yes it sucks.Im convinced that the ACC hates Coach Lawson. Senior Night vs Chaprl Hill on a THURSDAY night? The Methodists visit the Baptists on a Thursday evening as opposed to a Sunday after church.

The ACC announced its 2024-25 women’s basketball schedule Tuesday, the first season in which Stanford and Cal will be part of the East Coast-based conference.
Both Bay Area schools will play nine road games across three time zones, facing each other for a home-and-home, going to SMU once in the Central Time Zone and to seven games in the Eastern Time Zone.
Both Stanford and Cal will charter flights for women’s basketball road games this season to ease the burden of the increased travel. Last season, Stanford traveled a combined 4,581 miles to conference road games. The ACC schedule for both Cal and Stanford will total more than 23,000 miles, with 6,900-plus miles on the first trip alone to overtake last season’s total.
But think of the frequent flyer miles!
Stanford, Cal women will travel more than 23,000 miles in first ACC season (gift link, SF Chronicle)
Sadly, on charters they won't earn squat....but hey, good study time right? ;-)But think of the frequent flyer miles!
Stanford Womens Volleyball wins the award for most traveled team this fall -- they have 33k miles!
Is Duke the first ACC squad to showcase its team to the public? They did have a scrimmage tonight at the Craziness event tonight. .. But that required tickets.
They sure are making us fans get up early
Edit to the schedule. DAILY DONUTS approximately 8:39 am
We did, Louisville Live!Believe Louisville had their event today which included a 3x3 competition. Not sure if they had a full team scrimmage though based on what was advertised on social media.
Glad to hear that about the men's coach. The men's program has had a rough go of it for some time and it would be great to see them competitive again. We did, Louisville Live!
3x3 event , mix of WBB and MBB players, 3pt shooting contest, dunk contest. All the typical stuff.
Our men’s team has a new Coach who has injected energy straight to the veins of fans. The MBB program is long overdue for a return to a top program. Hoping Coach Pat Kelsey lives up to all of the hype and excitement.
