yes it would be nice don't you guys think we need a strong scoring power forward like Gary Clark type at Cincy
We still need a lot. Just because we're looking at one doesn't mean we won't fill other needs. Realistically we need more depth at every position besides pg.

Pipe dream:
- Johnson or Alstork
- Diarra
- McIntosh
- grad transfer center who can rebound the hell out of the ball

In this scenario we have depth at all spots and raw players such as Mamoudou, Polley, and Carlton have smaller roles and are potentially able to redshirt which will work to our advantage 2-3 years down the line.

Alstork would definitely play more than 20 minutes, and I also love Polley because his shot selection is better than anyone we've recruited in a long time. Polley may never score huge totals, but he won't waste possessions.

How can you possibly know that about Polley without seeing him play? Freshmen are notorious for taking terrible shots.

Really like Alstork's numbers. 38% from 3 at 6'5". Exactly what we need there. Bad shooting from 2%, but he used so many possessions, that will adjust up in a smaller role (same with TOs going down). He actually played the 4(!) at Wright St in a small-ball offense, so that may also explain some bad shooting numbers (bigger defenders). He can rebound at least as well as Vance, too. Can definitely play the 3 for us. And he draws fouls! Really well! And shoots 84% from the line. Hallelujah we've been missing someone who can do that. He literally drew fouls twice as often as any of our guards last year.

Hallelujah if we get him. Important point about drawing fouls Kemba and Shabazz were both great at it our last 2 National Championship teams and we were often in the bonus with 10 minutes to go in the 2nd half of games a Huge advantage for a team that can shoot it well from the line - we literally were putting points on the board many times for fouls committed in the back court, etc. Definitely a major part of the success those teams had - would love to see that again.

Looks like potentially a solid replacement for Purvis/Jackson. Purvis' maturity and Jackson's outside shooting. And only 1 year of commitment? Okay then, let's!

Yes all day long to this guy. The net hardly moves when his shot goes in. He's got size, is a scorer, nice jumper, nice from three and a one year commitment. What's not to like?
I guess it could be a done deal if it isn't for his greats. But if he legitimately graduates from Wright State. Ollie will call Benedict who will call Herbst
so I'm not worried. Just as long its not a NCAA violation

Also Pat Ewing and Georgetown have reached out according to his dad's twitter.

He'd have a starting role on a much better team in Storrs, so it shouldn't be a hard sale for Ollie. Cam Johnson left for a reason.

Doesn't mean anything, recruits set up visits all the time. This is two weeks later.
He could come to storrs before that and commit.

Yes we would all want him and he would be a huge pickup, but the real question is are we even in the running or if either side is even interested?

Does anyone know, I know we have a lot of insiders in the Yard?

OZ's tweet in the first post of the thread seems to indicate we are interested.

With the scoring ability he has you have to assume Alstork will be on the floor longer then 20 minutes - also don't underestimate Polley he's silky smooth finishing on the break and a late riser who is much better now then his ranking when he signed. He will pleasantly surprise a lot of people - he's a keeper who will be a good player.

Finally someone talking about Polley, thank you.
