2025 WNBA Regular Season

Either way, it still being celebrated by a subset of the WNBA fanbase. It doesn't matter if it's Clark or someone else, it's a mob mentality that contradicts the media talking heads saying fans don't want this in the game. If they can make it an exception because it's Clark, what's to stop them from explaining it away when the next generational talent goes pro?

It's a slipper slope to me and the WNBA needs to do something about the refereeing situation. I don't have an issue with physicality as most BYers know I prefer FIBA interpretations more than NCAAW. My bone of contention has been the lack of consistency because that's what leads to these problems. The focus of emphasis on "freedom of movement" this season, which should have addressed this, seems to be just talk sadly. :(
My husband watches The Herd, a sports talk show on CNBC. The host, Colin Cowherd, started yesterday’s show talking about Caitlin Clark and the Sun game as his opening comments for that show. Mind you, this is a show that talks about the NFL (endlessly) and some NBA but he spent a fair amount of time talking about the W. Apparently, rough play and in-game fights make the W more appealing to a male audience that had dismissed the W as “girls basketball “.

Ugh......just bloody wonderful.

Oh boy. Both games are on Prime tonight. I hope Amazon fixed their video issues with Prime Sports. I can watch a whole movie and 3 seasons of Jack Ryan without one issue. Watch a WNBA game on Prime and I get glitches every second! We will see what happens later with these games on Prime.
I've never had any issues with Prime sports using the app on my tv. My biggest gripe with Prime is that I cannot start the watching the game from the start while game is still live. You can only replay the game once it is finished. Typically I start watching games about 30 minutes into the game so I can skip commercials and catch up to the live stream sometime in the late 4th quarter but that strategy doesn't work with Prime.

How about Phoenix? Akoa Makani, Whitcomb and Laksa all stepped up big. Satou had her moments but overall struggled. AT had a big stat line but every time I was watching she seemed fairly quiet.

Lib wasted Stewie's big game. Ionescu couldn't hit a shot to save her life.

Where's the complaining about the "million $ coach" now? LOL.

Great game by Phx in spite of being without Copper. Their rookies are GOOD. Great game for Stewie, who found her 3 point shot, at least for 1 game. Is she above 15% for the season now?!!

Suddenly Minny and NY don't look so unbeatable. Could we see Indiana and Phx in the finals??

Phoenix looking pretty darn good! AT would have had a triple double out there, if her teammates made a few more buckets. Oh well. AT's hustle plays paid off for Phoenix. She out there guarding Stewie on/off. JJ on/off before JJ's injury. Threw in AT guarding Sabrina on/off, she played her butt off for Phoenix. The Mercury have a pretty decent team. Laksa, Makani, and Whitcomb looked really good out there. Fun game to watch and my Prime video did not crash out during the game. In my Ice Cube voice "Today Was a Good Day"

Just wondering, if JJ is out for a long time, is there a certain deadline for NY to make a move? Thanks.

Valks win, incredible crowd on hand.

Chloe Bibby in her first game outscored Caitlin Clark head to head. Amihere also with a monster game off the bench, I have no idea how she hasn't seen the floor the last couple of years. She's one of the best athletes in the league and is a solid player. Martin also solid off the bench.

Updated sample size, Clark's productivity/efficiency after getting at least 2 days off between games:
24.8 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists, 1.5 steals, 1.5 blocks, 4.3 TOs, 49.5% FG, 51.2% 3pt, 78.9% FT

Clark's efficiency with just 1 day off in between games :
13.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 8.3 assists, 0.7 steals, 0 blocks, 6.7 TOs, 34.5% FG, 8.6% 3pt, 80% FT

They might need some help. There's a massive drop off from Jones to Sabally.

I still can't fathom why the Valkyrie let go of Amihere. She was a difference maker in this game. I guess I am glad she is with them during EuroBasket but it's gonna suck when everyone returns...
I don't know who they chop but I can't imagine she doesn't stick with the team considering how well she's playing. If I'm Dallas I'd absolutely cut Nalyssa Smith in favor of Amihere if she's available.

Wow, was that @TheFarmFan climbing the rafters out at Golden State? :)
Golden State outscores Indiana 33-18 to win 88-77. And GS's bench had 40+ pts.
  • Tiff Hayes comes back from injury to score 14
  • Chloe Bibby in -- I think I'm right here -- her first regular-season WNBA game goes for 12 and plays nearly 24 minutes.
  • And Laeticia Amihere scores some some clutch layups en route to 10 points. Perhaps more importantly, 4 blocks.

Well, this was worth staying up for on the East Coast. Now, where's @TheFarmFan now? ;)

Baaaaallhalla, baaaahalla, hey hey hey, goodbyyyyye.

Amihere and Bibby showed out. Love that Nakase is going to have some difficult choices to make when Eurobasket is over. Also, I'm pretty sure a coach of the year credential is beating a team with 3 #1 picks with a team that's added 3 players who were picked up in the past week...

Sorry, too busy losing my voice along with the other 18,063 #1 Valkyries fans.

On PTI, Tony asked Wilbon if the fighting was good or bad for the league. Mike's reply: "It's (normal) growing pains." I like his take.

Makani, Whitcomb, and Laksa combined for 50 points. Yikes!
