2025 WNBA Regular Season

Seeing as how Golden State plays them in an hour, and our playoff hopes are very much on the fence, from your lips to the woofing gods' ears... Any given game, Paige can go off for 44..
The Valkyries are a considerably better defensive team than the Sparks. They will swarm Paige, give a little bit of attention to Maddie and pretty much dare anyone else on the Wings to beat them.

Wonder what Vegas knows that we don't. The Valkyries are only a one-point favorite and the ESPN matchup predictor is favoring the home Wing.

In my mind Paige won't be able to keep the W.
ing within 15

I know the Golden State sharpshooters are salivating at the prospect of the Dallas defense
They know our IR. Ceci is our most consistent shooter, and she didn't even travel for this. Rupert, our three point ace, is just coming back from concussion protocol. Hayes and Leite are game time decisions. Billings is out. Thornton is out for the season. We are banged up and on our last leg(s) (literally) of a quick Friday PM/Sunday AM road trip. I will be pleasantly surprised if we come away with the W.

Ahhhhh

Burton has played extraordinarily well as has Salon. I imagine both smile when they think about the prospect of the Dallas defense.

If any of the remaining walking wounded are able to play I suspect Dallas defense will be accommodating

Dallas served up that home cooking to Seattle Fri to the tune of 95 points They held the Storm to 56 per cent from the field. I don't think the Seattle players knew they were that good offensively

In their last four games the Dallas defensive scheme has performed as expected giving up 97, 106, 81, and 95 points

The maxim about winning on the road being hard well maybe not so true of Dallas

Wow! The W has had its share of injuries in the past, but this year is something else. The team that wins the championship may just be whoever manages to be the healthiest throughout the playoffs.

Fagbenle opens the scoring with a 3?!?!?

Remember, it's Dallas.

5 minutes into the game and the Wing have yet to hit a field goal.

While Golden State may not break 90 they're up by 10 and unless something changes real quick they certainly will cover the spread.

Poor Paige..........

What's happening here?! Has @nwhoopfan hacked into Adia Barnes' least favorite fan's Boneyard account and started posting under an assumed name?! I surely hope not, and @azfan is not about to piss off the woofing gods with such bold mid-game proclamations... poo poo poo, knock on wood

Hey, I'm trying to be nice to everybody and keep my thoughts to myself until games are over.

If Tina plays 4 more years and averages 14 ppg, she will pass Taurasi as the all-time leading scorer.
Which Tina could average that amount, just depends on what team she decides to play on, if she decides to play another 3-4 years, which if you listen to her conversation with Sue could happen. It all depends on what team she can join and if that team allows her to be Tina out there.

Hah. Thank you. @azfan incurred the wrath of the woofing gods, Dallas has stormed back and is up 2 at the half. This is why I make no claims mid-game - it almost always backfires...

Nneka with the game winner, rolled around and used every part of the rim before finally going thru the net. She finished w/ 30, but barely touched the ball in the 4th quarter. She was 6-7 behind the arc. Austin also scored 30 and was just about unstoppable. Even Malonga's length didn't seem to bother her much. Speaking of Dom, it's kinda looking like she's gonna take over for Magbegor. Ezi's development has stalled, or gone backwards actually, while Malonga is getting better by the day. Washington nearly had another double digit come back win, but after stalling out for most of the second half, Seattle had one last surge in them after they fell behind.

Malonga had 17/10. Not a great shooting game for Diggins, but she did have 11 assists. Sykes really struggled, until she hit a dagger 3 w/ about 15 seconds left. But Sutton answered it on the other end, setting the stage for Nneka's game winner.

Gabby is working her way up the list for single season steals. I think she is up to #5 now, with quite a few games left. She had 5 today.

Seattle with a thrilling 2 point win at Washington.
Back and forth for both teams at the end. Nneka Ogumwikie with a roll around and drop at the end of the buzzer. She finishes with 28.
Shakira Austin with a career-high 30 for the Mystics, supported by Iriafen (12) and Citron (14), who also had 4 steals and 6 rebounds.

Since Sykes has let, the Mystics are really only getting consistent production from three players per game, although Stef Dolson went for 11 today and played well. Coach Johnson had Clark in the starting lineup again and only played her 17 minutes, going back to Melbourne. When and if the Mystics fall out of playoff contention, I've got to think he'll play the youngsters to help the front office decide what to do in the offseason.

Lol..... Hard to figure out what's going on with Golden State. On second thought it's Hines Allen.

With that said going into the 4th quarter I'm sure the Dallas defensive scheme will make a decisive impact on both the current lead held by Golden State as well as the final outcome.

Clutch 3-pointer by Slim to set up the game winner

Ahhhh .... The Wing come completely unglued as the fourth quarter begins.

Certainty in life are death, taxes, and the Dallas defense.

Bueckers still having a post 44 point game hangover. 5-18 shooting in 2 games since then (it was 3-16 and then she went and made 2 shots just to prove me wrong, before I even posted this).

Sir, don't even think woofing-god-tempting thoughts. They can FEEL your jinx intentions...

So as the game staggers to the end the Dallas announcers point out that this is the 10th straight game in which the Wing have allowed opponents to shoot 38% or better from three point land.

The sharpshooters for Golden State set a season record for made three pointers against the Dallas resolute determination to not defend the three line. This Dallas defense reminds me so much of the work of Natasha Adair.

You have to hand it to both the coach in Dallas as well as the team they are totally committed to the Dallas defensive scheme.

Shooters around the league anticipate with relish playing the Dallas Wing.

On the other hand Golden State does play defense and broke Paige's streak of 30 games scoring at least 10 points per game.

You have to hand it to both the coach in Dallas
You've stuck with your "million dollar coach" moniker for the guy in Phoenix pretty much from the beginning, you need to come up with a nickname for Koclanes. Several of these first year coaches appear to be in over their head, while a some others are doing a really good job.

As such a big fan of the college game, it's just wild that in a game that features Maddy Siegrist, Paige Bueckers, Haley Jones, Diamond Miller, and Veronica Burton, Burton was the most dominant player on the court. Like if we rewound the clock and it was March 2022, I would've never expected this. Obviously, Paige is a rookie, and may be hitting a bit of a wall. Also her team is very banged up and so they seem to lack cohesion. But IDK y, it's just so wild to me. And as others have mentioned Burton was pretty great in college and this is more of a praise to her than a knock on anyone else. The system is also great for her as well. Lots of shooters and driving lanes for Burton.

I also think Seattle's and Golden State's defense is a lot better than LA's defense. They make it tough, and when no one is reallya threat it's even worse.
