2025-26 Coaching Carousel

I'm hearing smoke that Michigan is interested in Coach Candle to replace Sherrone
While I admire sarcasm as much as anyone. This one is too close to the heart.
If it was even remotely true, UConn CAN'T let Warde "monitor" UConn yet again.
When I went to the press conference on Monday, the one thing that stood out was Coach Candle's authenticity & honesty. He was accompanied by his wife & kids. The words he spoke came from the heart on the direction he plans for UConn Football.
If your children are seated in the front row, dressed in their "Sunday go to meetin's", how can you immediately uproot them as a parent after speaking about "life lessons"?OR, this rumor can just be chalked up to money talks...

Jed Fisch, the head coach of Washington, is a potential candidate for the Michigan job. Would Mora be interested in Washington if the job comes open?

I honestly don't think our former HC wants a P2 job, maybe not even P4. 1. there is so much more pressure and 2. I doubt P2 programs think he's qualified. We beat duke and a bunch of low level G6 teams. He can't lose at CSU because that program can only go up. Quality of life seems to be a very big factor.

Rumors around Moore are that his affairs were an open secret and that people expected him to lose his job this fall. Might explain why there was so much hemming and hawing around Penn State if people were waiting for Michigan to open.

Also some reporting that Warde was forced to act because he was confronted with "irrefutable" evidence. If he was trying to sweep this under the rug I don't see how he survives, especially with what happened with Michigan's hockey coach a few years ago.

So Rick Neuheusel said that because of the coaching change at Michigan, players can immediately go into the transfer portal & sign elsewhere. Hey Wolverines, "Come on down!!!!"
I thought they had to wait til a new coach was signed.

I don't see how the UM Trustees and Prez let Warde Manuel hire the new coach. He's fast becoming the pariah in this drama.

I can't see how they get anything done soon without knowing who's doing the doing. A lot of balls in the air and a lot of money riding on the outcome. A real mess.

Per Wikipedia :
The window for players undergoing a head coaching change was also reduced. A new window of 15 days opens five calendar days after the hiring or public announcement of a new head coach. Should a school fail to hire or publicly announce a new head coach within 30 days after the previous coach's departure, the window will open on the 31st day after departure, provided that the 31st day is no earlier than January 3. This particular window, also open for 15 days, may open at any time before June 30.

On Manuel's watch:
  • UConn bypassed by Louisville for the final life-raft off the G5 (prior to Pac-12 implosion)
  • Bob Diaco hire and starting the extension process (which Benedict inherited) after the 2015 bowl (Houston upset) season
  • Kevin Ollie hire (admittedly forced on him by Calhoun)
  • Jim Harbaugh situation & Sign-Stealing Scandal
  • Juwon Howard situation
  • Sherrone Moore situation
  • Hockey coaching scandal

While Michigan doesn't care about the first three, I can't imagine after everything Manuel survives a fourth major scandal/situation in the last few years.
Guess this redefines the concept of the ‘Michigan man’

There’s dominos falling across the landscape - lotta movement w/ good staff people. Relocation companies making bank 😉
