Next year will be so different, but very entertaining to see how it fits.

Will probably regret the desire to see something new, but that's college.

I’m with you. We have seen the “bench” often when they sub out 5 for 5. It’s instant energy, but IDK if they can sustain it for an entire game. There are some excellent defenders in that group (Breezy and Raven) so at least that’s a start. I think next year it’s going to be fun and frantic whereas this year has been slow and steady. Next year will be a team that gets better with time. Dawn better bring her patience. :).

ESPNU airing hour long scrimmage Monday @ 5:00 est.

The McDAA game is Tuesday @ 6:30 est on ESPN2.

Greatly appreciate you posting this information. I always seem to miss out on watching this game.

Tessa's Minnesota accent is chef's kiss .. give her every post game presser next year haha...
When I first heard her speak I was thrown off a little lol. It’s different but in a good way!

Md had a great game plan, best one I have seen against SC in awhile. They just could not compete on the boards where S.C. had almost as many offensive rebounds as Md had total. SC is a beast.

Couldn't sustain the energy and foul trouble did the rest.

Then when the pressure on perimeter subsided, they paid the price in the paint.

4 down two to go. None of the other three FF teams can beat SC. There are a lot of doubting Thomases on the UConn side. Some weren’t convinced SC would repeat. I think Iowa will give SC a better game than either LSU or Virginia Tech. I’ll be watching next week as I watched tonight. Your toughest game next week will be on Friday against Iowa. Congratulations Gamecock Nation.

Agreed. Brilliant game plan and great effort. Her team shot 50% from the floor and from 3, yet the game never felt like it was in question due to how dominant Maryland was on the glass. Shows how dominant SC can be even when another team plays great basketball.

I hate it when you say things like that! Quit trying to invoke a curse on us please

She definitely should! No one else on their roster has a shot that automatic!
Their current GM is their former College Coach for while he was at South Carolina. He left USC to marry Joni Taylor. Good choice!!! lol

One more thing.. I love Debbie Antonelli as an analyst for MBB and WBB. ...however last night I thought the team of Mowins and Antonelli broadcasted a very biased perspective of the game slanted towards MD. Am I off?

I have always been a fan of Iowa State's Lexi Donarski. She is in the portal. I doubt we are a fit for her as I know she wants a lot of playing time but it would be nice to see her in the Garnet and Black as an experienced Big Guard in the rotation.

I'd bet the farm on you guys winning both games this weekend. No karma or curses involve here, just fate. :) I've always liked and respected Dawn. I vividly remember her during her playing days at Virginia. If UConn can't win it, I'd like to see her win it. She's going to do something that is very hard to do........................repeat. ;)

Aliyah's still being coy about the "are you coming back" question....

That's a "CLOWN" question bro. She has nothing else to prove in WCBB. A 2-time national champion, and will leave with a Bachelor's degree. She's ready for the challenges and financial rewards of playing professionally. :)

I'll miss knowing exactly what is going to happen game to game, but I agree that there is no reason for her to come back.

We might have been the favorite next year if we'd signed JuJu Watkins. Impressive.

Great decisions and she's going to live at the line if she wants to.
I was shocked when she chose the other USC. Nationally top-ranked elite recruits just don't choose USC. UCLA (Kiki Rice the year before) maybe, but not USC. USC women's teams have been invisible for the last two decades. They are making a resurgence now. With the addition of Watkins, they will challenge for top billing in the Pac-12 and BIG 10. Watkins will be a starter the first day she walks on campus.

The Big Ten will keep its East and West divisions through the 2023 season, and then USC and UCLA are slated to become official members on Aug. 2, 2024.
