In her freshmen season, Bates is averaging 21.4 points, 3.8 assists, and 4.2 steals while shooting 44% from the field, 41% from three (46-113), and 76% from the foul line. She has 49 assists to 33 TO's.

Awful lot to like here for a freshman. Hell, make that a junior or senior. Head always up and under control using both hands. Sees the whole floor. Scrappy and very quick and a pure shooter. I really like this kid. No Hollywood and all business.

My goodness. That is one of the purest strokes of beauty I have ever seen. Quick release at a high point, just very smooth. Never seen a shot make Lou’s look so unorthodox. UConn should take a look at her - even if all she is good for is standing behind the line and mediocre on defense, because it’s likely going in if it goes up.

Somebody's doing a great job teaching this kid fundamentals. That little follow through on the 3s. Anticipating and reading those passing lanes. Quintessential PG. Auriemma's going to love this kid. Hope she'll cross the country for college.

I think pretty most if not all of the bigs in the 2020 class other then Brink need some work on their offensive games............we have been spoiled by Collier who has had that beautiful touch around the basket since she was a freshman.............

Who's this newcomer Malone? I was thinking Bob Pettit, who on this day in 1962 had 25 points and 27 rebounds in the NBA All-Star game. Pettit, to no one's interest but mine, probably, also is an excellent bridge player.

Does anyone have any stats on how girls we offered last year in total? If we have say 3 scholarships available, do we only offer give out 3 offers? Do the players have to be a heavy lean toward Uconn to even get an offer? To me recruiting should be like fishing, you never catch all the ones you want but still want to catch more than one. I'm sure the coaches talked to each other about a player's interest level and have a strategy to try to land that player. Feel free to call me a novice and say the system doesn't work that way.
