2019/20 UConn Recruiting

How do you get to the UConn Women's recruiting home page. I remember the HuskyNan or someone used to have a site which showed the recruit a picture, information etc. Actually you could at one time get to the site on the Boneyard????

The page has been deleted due to lack of maintenance. There are many separate threads tracking UConn interest in recruits by specific class(es).

NJ Sparks Gold vs Team Loaded Davis. Leilani Correa 6-0 WF 19' vs Sam Brunelle 6-3 F 19'. Major talent in this game. pic.twitter.com/3EwIsZ3qJ5

Lots of folks came to Philly to see The Divine Ms. B. Playing against a very gifted, tough and fast wing here, Leilani Correa of the Sparks Gold and Rutgers Prep .Correa is -- to lift a phrase from a NJ singer/songwriter -- born to run.

At least one media member reported of UConn interest in new #2 Rickea Jackson back in November:

January Facebook post:

The Female Black Athlete of the Month goes to Rickea Jackson of Detroit Edison Public Academy. Rickea is Ranked as the #1 Sophomore in the state of Michigan, and ESPN ranks her as the #7 player in the class of 2019. She has a 3.8 GPA, and schools like UCONN, Maryland, Michigan, Tennessee, and many others are in pursuit of the versatile wing player.

Great to see NJ & NY so well represented on that list............Saddle River Day's Michelle Sidor has moved up to #17 ranking........interesting

Rickea Jackson is very intriguing. 3 ball, functional handles, defensive intensity, runs like a deer, pogo stick jumping ability. Swin Cash lite?
BTW prospect nation has Jackson ranked ahead of Baby Bruney in 2019 class.

Sam Brunelle appears to UConn's #1 priority for 2019 as evidence by Geno's presence at her AAU games at Boo Williams recently. A very wise woman recently informed us that despite the "UConn connection" the staff has not shown any interest in Faith. That piece of information about Faith is a good as the gospel or better yet the 10 commandments it that it is practically written in stone.

COCO : Thank you very much. Just getting on here from my off-season slumbers to give RSHERM a boost on his health thread and saw this - and appreciated your news. A shame as I always found that page very interesting - in the old days it even had pictures of the kids, so that was nice too and kind of brought the names to life in a way.

What kind of convoluted advise is this: "don't go where you wanna go, but go where they want you"?

When most AAU coaches talk recruiting..................I grab my daughter and run the other way..........

Blue Star has revamped their rankings for both 2019 and 2020.

In a shocker they've dropped Sam Brunelle from #1 to #5 in the '19 class. Their new #1 is Aliyah Boston ahead of Breanna Beal at #2. Celeste Taylor is #6 and Zia Cooke up to #7.

They shook up the 2020 class too. Kylee Watson is their new #1. Maddie Burke moved from 10th to 6th and Paige Bueckers moved from the 20's to #10.

I think the"problem" that Sam Brunelle has is that she is a tweener in an age where extra value is given for specialization......... .......for instance, she can play inside but at 6'2" she's not a really a banger...........she's athletic but there are other players that are quicker and can jump higher..............she's got a good outside shot but I'm not sure she's really a three point specialist..............she can handle the ball but she's not adroit enough to play the point regularly...............in other words she's just a really, really good all around basketball player and even ranked at number 5 we'd be lucky to get her!!!!!

Agree that we would be lucky to have her because the UCONN staff would know what to do with her. Disagree that the problem is with her. The problem is with the recruiting/ranking services that seem to be going out of their way to find fault with her game.

Is one of these evaluation sites--Blue Star, Prospects Nation, ESPN, et al--considered the "gold standard" in this area?

When is the last time New England had a top 10, let alone #1, kid?
