You're both wrong. Playing at DDP would benefit only UCONN. It's not like New Britain's and Norwich's stadium(s) are available with no fuss no muss, right? Oh wait...

This entire discussion has just been shooting the breeze, take a breath!

You act like I'm angrily pounding the keyboard making my point. Maybe spend less time assuming things that aren't true. Just sayin'.

Because it costs money to open the park and staff all those games. The revenue would be negligible. It's just not worth it.
If it’s not worth it to staff for 8 games revenue, it clearly isn’t worth it to staff it for the 3 games already scheduled

A little nugget from Chris Jones, although I was waiting for this to happen with my RPI watching. The AAC is now 4th in Conference RPI, having moved ahead of the Pac 12.
Very good news. It looks like we have 4 almost sure bids with 4 teams in the top 26 and one bubble school at #57. Lots of innings to go but that is really good news. UConn just needs to continue to take care of business.

Did what we needed to do yesterday and got a New England win. Just can't afford to lose these games, kills our RPI.

(1) Hoping to get 2 of 3 this weekend, especially with our depleted pitching staff. This would be huge.

(2) We are meeting " green" all our post season goals, from my unscientific criteria.

(3) Wanted to go ( at minimum) 9-4, over this 13 game stretch. So far we are 1 - 0

Go Huskies

Current record.. season goal

5 - 4 / .556 % .... 14 - 10 / .583 % - AAC regular season
0- 0 / .000% .... 2 - 2 / .500 - AAC tourney
6- 0-1 / .929% ... 11 - 2 / .846 - New England games
9-7/ .562.... 9 - 7/ .562- Other games

Post season Criteria
(1) 20-11-1 .641 ..... 36-21 / .631 - Overall record

(2) 9... <50- RPI

(3) 4th - Top 4 AAC

Did you ever think our RPI would be this high?

Part of the reason UConn's RPI is so high is that the Huskies have played so many road games. There is a huge benefit to winning on the road. UConn will be playing more home games towards the end of the season, so I suspect UConn could have a pretty good winning percentage in these remaining games and still drop some in the RPI.

Did not think our RPI would be this high, an more surprising to me is that we are being mentioned as possibly hosting a regional. That would be awesome. Still much baseball to play, and I am worried about our beat up pitching staff.

Again , big away weekend vs a Cinci team that is ahead of us in AAC standings, but with a bad RPI (150's) . Would sign up for 2 of 3 right now.

So this is of course extremely premature chatter, but the regionals appear to be June 1-4. The Yard Goats host Altoona June 1-3 and have the 4th off. What's the chance that they move that series? They have a 3 game set on the road against Altoona 2 weeks later, so it's a simple swap. Dodd Stadium is free but I have to imagine that there would be a very strong push to get the Huskies into Hartford if it came to fruition.

Gutted out a much needed win. Another win today would be a big help.

What a great , hard-nosed series win away vs Cinci. Especially with all our injuries, including 2 of 3 of our weekend starting pictures.

(1) Our next 9 games are vs teams with losing records. Part of 13 game stretch that was hoping for an 9 - 4 record. We are currently 3 -1 in this 13 game stretch.

(2) We have best record in AAC vs top 50 teams (9-5).

(3) We have second most road wins in country at 18. ( Wagner has 20)

(4) Need to continue to dominate New England teams this week, by taking care of H. Cross and URI. Before Tulane comes to Dunkin donuts park this weekend.

(5) Everything in "green" below. Great sign, but much baseball to go. Especially with our injuries.

Again we did what we needed to do vs a New England team. Looking like today's game not going to be played because of rain. Need to continue to win our weekend AAC series.

Still " All Green" below

I truly appreciate the effort that it takes to maintain this thread. And I thank you for it.

Having said that, we are well past the halfway point of the season, we are 13th in the rpi and we have overwhelmingly home games left on the schedule. I hope that no one's goal associated with the program is just making the tournament at this point.

I think it's fair to say that the common goal at this point is to host a regional.

Which is sort of my point. The issue today is how many wins do we think we need to be in the selection committee's top 16 and get a #1 seed for the first weekend?
