Too bad for UConn if he goes elsewhere, as he was a man on defense for the team Steve Krajewski's team lost to in the Georgia state championship. They couldn't block him. The good news was Krajewski was able to make plays and put together the long drive that lead to the go ahead touchdown with less than a minute to go......the bad news was Krajewski's team had three unbelievable calls against them that allowed McDonald's team to get in position for a winning FG. Two successive penalties for 12 men on the field? No way, but they were called.

I wonder if Wholley will spend his day trying to flip David N who committed to Temple last week.

I’d love to finish with Rayam and a recruiting flip.

Anyone know who was up last weekend? I'm thinking focus is on Rayam and Haynes at this point, but what do I know

The past weekend the known visitors were Woodson, Black and Turner. I suspect/hope we had some others on the down low- but nothing has been outed.

Yes, Haynes and Rayam are the known realistic high priority targets at this point. Just about anyone else after that would be a surprise. I am hoping for a surprise....maybe even a flip....but no good leads on any such possibility out there at this hour.

I would think Jayden McDonald is also a priority and Randy is in his neighborhood today hopefully getting a chance to make another pitch...

Yeah, new angle - at UConn you can join forces with GA bros in Black, Krajewski and Rooney.
 
You are permitted five OVs and so far he has used them on Kansas St, Iowa, Purdue and now finishes this weekend with Ole Miss. The kid is enjoying the process.

A Rayam and McDonald combo would be a major recruiting coup. But McDonald never visited and is scheduled to go to Ole Miss this weekend. I think that fantasy ship has sailed with the SEC offer. There are likely other diamonds down south that Randy is digging for. I like the focus of the second round of recruiting to be mostly southern. The last 5 commits are 3 from FL, and 1 each from GA and NC. Haynes is from MD, Rayam is from AL. Get the northern talent early, but don't reach on the northern recruits. Focus the last spots on kids that have faced high level high school competition down south.
 
Agreed, that McDonald ship has sailed.. Rayam and some more of those Edsall diamonds in the rough that we haven't heard anything about work best...

I’m not swift enough to do this from my phone to post the twitter link, but last night we offered Pierce Devaughn, a 6’4’’ 235lb DE out of Plano Tx. He has offers from Army, Central Arkansas, Northern Colorado and Montana State.

Looks like we have our replacement for Woodson.

The highlight video shows someone with decent pass rush ability, particularly the first three - four steps when rushing straight ahead. If he has the discipline for the gym he might be able to get more explosive. Good DE frame overall.

Hopefully the kid visits this weekend.

I saw this kid was on our radar after he verballed to Montana State.. Looks like we are looking for another body for our front 7... I like his highlights.. another bigger body that can hold up at the LOS for us on D... Kinda built like Surgers too... Nice size and a true DL, not a converted kid like another previous coaching regime liked to bring in... Would be nice to get him, along with Rayam (still want him for our LB corp, which, IMO, is looking pretty good right now)
