I saw Ragaini play live when at NDWH. Yes he impressed me a lot. However, I don’t think this visible campaign on an internet bulletin board and Twitter will help his cause. The way to get noticed by a staff is to express your interest to direct to the staff itself, not by using such a public forum. The staff’s evaluation of him, coupled with what they think their needs are, will drive their decision. The publicly expressed opinions of a handful of diehard fans (which may or may not include his friends and family) won’t move the needle. Nor should it.
Very well said. But hey, it is freedom of speech so the advocating for Ragaini is welcomed as material for our banter.
Again, these 19 coming in seem promising. Time will tell!

By saying "Character issue?" you aren't implying that? Of all the "million reasons" you pick that one yet you are "Not implying that,".

i was wondering if it was a character issue as well. only because the staff has stated that they have disqualified recruits for that reason recently

Doubt it. I just believe that it wasn’t a position of need beyond the athletes they’ve signed. And the ones they’ve brought in are better than him in their opinion

When I saw Trevardo's name, I remembered his dance moves. He was a freak athlete.
Wonder how he would have done at running back?

Bunch of mutual twitter follows for Kirk Merritt, a WR at Eastern Mississippi CC. Was a 4 star recruit at A&M who was kicked off the team
oh god it sounds like he Louis C.K.'d his tutors. I'm not sure how I'd feel about him being here... He already went from Oregon to A&M to CC

Agreed lol. Guy doesn't seem like he sticks anywhere and has that weird baggage. We'll see...haven't offered yet, but he's following like everyone on our staff

Looks like he has two years of eligibility left. I don't believe players who have signed an NLI with another school at a prior point count towards the 25 man annual scholarship limit. Therefore, I think this would use one of the three open transfer slots we have in addition to the seven open slots under the 25 head limit Edsall mentioned on signing day.

I had it backwards in my first post (since edited). I only see Lashlee following while it looks like he is following 10 or so of our coaches though. It seems like he is more interested in us (surely through Lashlee) than perhaps vice versa.

I'm not sure I'd classify indecent exposure as a "distraction"
honestly, I've heard worse about a young kid who's probably going thru a cocky phase (most kids with ability on his level do things, but probably got swept under the rug, or they just didn't get caught). My hope is he's taking this setback all in and he's remorseful and serious about making the best of this one last chance... Doesn't sound too unfair, does it?

ehh maybe 20 years ago I'd have a different opinion. with what we know today and the current climate it's probably best we stay away.

I did the same thing. There's probably some level of interest on both ends I'd imagine, but yeah he's following a bunch of our guys

Anyone think its bizarre we haven't looked into Casey Rogers from Avon Old Farms at all?

I guess they figure why waste time on him when he has much bigger offers
Yep, I think that is it. He did visit this summer and nothing more came from it. He might have put out a strong vibe that UConn was never going to be a candidate so the staff quite early.

I'm not crushed by this situation. I think the other kids we are pursuing now or missed out on are better for DL. I like Rogers more for TE and TE is not a priority for us.

Unfortunately, I think a lot these kids need to get offers from the brand names to post on social media as much as anything. Just like how kids pick the highest ranked school on USNW to attend. In each case, while they may feel validated, neither is necessarily making the right choice. First, nearly all won't play at the next level. Second, only some will see major playing time and the others will sit most of their college career waiting for their break. Few, when given the opportunity, will replace the starter after recovery from injury. Third, many will leave saying they played for "Big U" but frustrated they never had a chance. You can't play football if you never reach the field. A talented player can have a huge impact by picking s school that needs a high caliber player for a position.
How kids should pick:
1.) Do they need that position filled?
2.). Is that coaching staff good with player development?
3.) What is the school' academic reputation
4.). How many football players graduate
5). How many football players graduate and get jobs within 1 year
6). Do I like the campus I will be living at for 4 years
7). Does the program respect class and learning time or is it going through the motions

How most really pick:

1.). Is it the most prestigious football program?
2.). Do I "like" the BS the coach threw at me
3.). When do I get to wear some swag

If he was a passrushing DE, or a great cover guy, or a QB, I might take the risk. But to take the risk at a position that is the strongest position group on the team -- when you can only take this type of risk so many times -- doesn't make sense to me.

The ones that really really good, it's most of the time...
Out best shot in a long while in changing the narrative is this upcoming 2019 cycle. Edsall 2.0 has a much better relationship with both public and private local schools this time. Now there is at least dialogue.

Recruiting tip of the day, offer every kid Navy offers. Every friggen one!

They are just slapping around Virgina (one of those schools that routinely takes our lesser regarded private school football players).
