Refresh of my 10/15 post. Bold = uncommitted prospect. Yes, I continue to take a stab at position placement which probably a fools errand.
I'm aiming for 27 kids, 25 for this cycle with Eli Thomas and Jan enrollee Nyadu counting towards 2017.
Based on yesterday's senior class announcements, it appears we have space for 23 kids next year w/o any early departures. I am sure there will be some departures, but maybe not in time to allow us to sign a full 25 + 2 this Dec/Jan.
If we are limited to just three more this cycle w/o grayshirting - then I think the priority for the staff is two DL and one RB. If we get a kid with plus level talent at any position to commit, then someone its going to draw a short straw for deferred enrollment.
QB - 1 - Krajewski
RB - 2 - Gillespie, one of the Georgia RBs per TOS (we are looking at 6 or 7 GA RBs, two or three more seriously than the others.)
OL - 5 - Rooney, Maloney, Nyadu, Niedrowski, Jefferson or Beebe (for center position) if we can free up another space in this class. Otherwise I think Nyadu or Niedrowski move to C. The visit by Reiser adds to intrigue that they are not done with this position.
WR - 3 - Jeffreys, Robinson, Maurisseasu-ONeil,
TE - 2 - Bemiy (looking at his early 2018 tape, still looks like an offensive player to me, playing RB and TE this year) plus one of Brayden Willis or Corey Thomas (former WV commit now at ASA Juco in Brooklyn)
DL - 5 - Pace, T. Jones (or place him on OL), three of Daley/Mimes/Uguak or TBD Juco. Is the staff still interested in McCracken? who knows.
LB - 4 - K. Jones, Harris, Webb, E. Thomas (Juco - already on campus)
DB - 5 - Banks, Morrison, Carroll, Lazarus, + tbd DB (with Lucian and Devon Matthews visiting, seems we might add one more here)
total = 27
Two tactics the staff could take is to PWO or Blueshirt Ragaini and to take Corey Thomas in the spring. Both tactics help with managing the 25 slot limit and gives the staff more time to push out more kids to free up scholarships. I could see them scooping up a DL, RB or TE this way as well - in the spring.
