Well, I perused his twitter activity one day a couple weeks ago and just didn't see much or any UConn activity. Seemed focused on his other P5 suitors and maybe Western Michigan (or some other MAC school - I forget really). Glad to hear he is still in play. We need a solid bowling ball to add to the backfield.
 


Article basically says UConn is still an option (but admits that he is a southern kid that wants a southern football feel and atmosphere). He is impressed with UConn academics and their ability to put players into the NFL. Decision down the road...

There is something in the winds but not sure why or if official or set in concrete.

So I guess this is one way to do a gray shirt year of sorts? Except, this is effectively burning 1 year of his 5 years of eligibility.

For now, I am going to assume (hope) he's still coming in the summer of 2018.

don't know if this is the case specifically this time (although it would make sense).

Coaches will "place" kids at certain JUCO's if they are committed to the team and then fail to qualify for whatever reason. In response for the coach guiding/placing a kid at a JUCO the coach will limit contact between other schools and that player and help keep the commitment to that school solidified.

I'd assume thats what happened here since we've been on a Lackawanna spurt with the new staff.

From a preparation standpoint, love the move this kid made to take the JUCO route.. He gets to play against better competition now as well as develop a little more (kinda like minor leagues of FBS football move, or JV level) ..Here's hoping he can qualify after this semester and be on campus in January.. giving a 4 to play 3 option...
 
Anyone have the scoop on the 3 star lineman coming to visit per TOS?

And I wonder where we are at with Christian Izien. He camped with us over the summer and attended a Rutgers on 9/9. His twitter account indicates that he friends with Lazarus. He did retweet the Corey Edsall UConn coaches picture back in late August. Kid is shifty, plays RB, WR and DB. I'd like to see him try RB with us or Corner. Has a cut move, decent speed and certainly can catch. Shades of Swann and Mensah.

I think Crozier could be pushed out next year by the right recruit. Need to see the rest of this year first, but so far I am not convinced he's untouchable.

Fair, I am just very wary of true FR starting from day 1 on the OL. Even RVD is getting eased in game by game.

Of course. A true freshman at Center would be very unusual, but Edsall has already demonstrated rather unequivocally that capable freshman play today, no saving for tomorrow. And, my hypothetical OLine for 2018 might be what it looks like in by game 6 rather than game 1.

So my critique put in motion the bad luck that ended his season?

Does anyone have intel on who is practicing at center on this squad? I'd like to hear that Hubbard is considered the third guy after Schafenacker and the two long snappers are the emergency back ups.
