2018-2019 Coaching Carousel

My guess is that the brass at Louisville is a huge pain to work for. Things are so dysfunctional there, can't blame him

Saying no to a dream job in an area you grew up in...in order to stay in a situation that you enjoy with fairly average expectations. Hmm.

Satterfield would be a coup for them. MUCH tougher to recruit and win at Louisville when you can't resort to rampant cheating and criminal activity any more though.

Aside: Tobacco Road must be really pleased with allowing their football schools to dictate that Louisville add. Now they're stuck with a community college peer that can't operate like a "football school" any more because their criminal factory has been thoroughly exposed. And if UL can't cheat/commit crimes to recruit, they can't compete in the P5. An anchor weight in every sense of the word. Hope those ACC school Presidents spent their kickbacks wisely!

Bet on how much the ACC is whispering in the NCAA's ear not to give Louisville basketball the death penalty? If the NCAA grows a pair and does hammer the Cards, the ACC will have an albatross on its hands for years to come. Coaches know this. The death penalty on SMU's football program was a key factor in the SWC's death.

Those names are a reality check for UL fan base who might think it’s a destination job.
Realistically, it's a pretty impressive candidate list. Maybe Loserville would benefit from a bit less coaching bling.

Absolutely. UL can only compete when they cheat. That much is obvious. And now they're a big problem for those ACC Presidents who bought in to the nonsense that FSU and Clemson (and the "football schools") sold. A death penalty for Louisville would create havoc inside that conference. Even if they don't get a significant penalty (which they probably won't, to be honest...NCAA is as corrupt as Louisville), it's still a comforting thought that Duke, UNC, Boston College, Syracuse, Georgia Tech and the rest of the top academic schools in the conference are sharing revenue with a community college that stinks at playing sports fairly.

.@cmsilvajr and I have confirmed with two separate sources that Texas Tech is in negotiations with Utah State coach Matt Wells to make Wells the Red Raiders' next head coach.

Just confirmed with a source within Texas Tech that this is down the road and expected to happen. Not done, but on the way. Tech officials interviewed Wells Tuesday in Salt Lake City.

Source: Greg Robinson is interviewing right now for the #NorthCarolina defensive coordinator job, so it's likely but not finalized yet. Robinson twice served as a Mack Brown assistant at #Texas. Last coached in 2015 at San Jose State.
>>Source tells FootballScoop former Tar Heel great Dre Bly is expected to join the staff as well, coaching corners.

Greg Robinson & Bly are in the building and expected to be through the hiring process today and once they have passed the NCAA test, both can begin making calls for Carolina.

Source tells FootballScoop Robinson will call the defense and will work with the linebackers. Tommy Thigpen, who was held over from Fedora’s staff, will remain safeties coach and is expected to have co-defensive coordinator title. Bly will coach corners. Brown and Robinson are working on filling the defensive line role.<<

James Madison's coach: Sun Belt Charlotte with a tiny stadium vs AAC East Carolina job and living in a smallish city? Signed contract, or even a MOU with Charlotte? Done deal, or not yet? A quick about face might prompt some tangling between 2 NC public schools.

If we could exchange Edsall for Butch Jones I would think most of us would rejoice. So with ECU and UMASS two coaches that beat us this year are on the street. We used to get coaches fired by beating them.
