James Madison's coach: Sun Belt Charlotte with a tiny stadium vs AAC East Carolina job and living in a smallish city? Signed contract, or even a MOU with Charlotte? Done deal, or not yet? A quick about face might prompt some tangling between 2 NC public schools.

Greg Robinson & Bly are in the building and expected to be through the hiring process today and once they have passed the NCAA test, both can begin making calls for Carolina.

Source tells FootballScoop Robinson will call the defense and will work with the linebackers. Tommy Thigpen, who was held over from Fedora’s staff, will remain safeties coach and is expected to have co-defensive coordinator title. Bly will coach corners. Brown and Robinson are working on filling the defensive line role.<<

It's funny that the ECU fanbase had been singing praises about Joe Dooley and Mike Houston for a long time... and they got their wish on hiring both of them

So far, Dooley has (imo) rewarded their admiration with some solid staff hires. I think they'll do well with both guys.

So, not the CUSA's Charlotte with a 15K or so seat stadium and likely lower than the Atlantic's East Carolina, $1.3 million to start. Apparently, Houston wanted to return to his home state and the state's 3rd largest capacity stadium and likely bigger dollars mattered. Tangling complete.
