From Scout--> Daniel Hamilton, SG/SF, John Bosco – With the game tied, Bosco looked to Hamilton and he flat out delivered. The 6-foot-7 wing hit a contested 19 foot jumper as the buzzer expired to break a tie and send the California kids home happy. Hamilton overall had a solid game beside that shot. He was showing some good ability to get to the rim, and then also was hitting from the mid-range. Add in that he had seven rebounds and four assists, and it was obvious the type of effort that Hamilton put forth, and the future Connecticut Husky showed why he is one of the best prospects in the country.

if hamilton isn't a consensus top 10 recruit by the end of the year, than this must be one of the best high school classes to come out in decades.

this isn't a particulary great class, its good but definitely not on the level of last year's. Both '14 and '15 are relatively equal, '16 is another loaded year.

'Just go in and work hard' , seems to be a theme with Ollie's recruits. I like that

Lubin with 23 points, 13 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 6 dunk his AAU/HS coach told me. After his last dunk he was called for a tech for hanging on the rim too long so they sat him the entire 4th quarter so he couldn't get another one and be forced to sit a game out.

Rakim Lubin, Buford’s 6-foot-8 Connecticut commit, then took over for the next two minutes. Lubin finished off four ally-oop dunks and blocked two shots to spark the decisive run that would see Buford lead 65-49 with four minutes left in the game. They also forced five more East Hall turnovers in a four minute span.

“(Rock) really stepped up for us but I thought it was our defense that set the table,” Whitehart said. “We were able to turn those into some easy points.”

Another view of the game winning shot from Hamilton:

Not a 2014 recruit but Prince had 24 points, 9 steals, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists in a win yesterday his brother told me. He missed his last two games with a slightly sprained knee but he's good to go again.

Next-Best Scorer
Daniel Hamilton (Bellflower, Calif./St. John Bosco)
2015, SF/SG, 6-6, 185
Signed with UConn
Hamilton is a very good natural scorer. The hardest thing to guard in basketball is a guy who can get his own shot from anywhere, and Hamilton is one of those guys. He is the last of the famous Hamilton brothers (Jordan Hamilton is in the NBA and Isaac Hamilton is at UCLA). Daniel has the ability to be an immediate-impact player at Connecticut next year.

Love the thread - does anybody know anything about the level of competition these guys are facing? Sounds like we may have stolen one in Lubin.

@burrellee3: Dorsey 27pts, 6ast
Zaid 4pts
Hamilton 13pts, 12rebs, 6ast
Jackson 18pts
Tate 5pts, 3 blks
LeBlanc 2pts
Preston 10pts

That reads like a third-grader's report on his summer vacation.

He is very good. He has brothers. He will be very good next year, too.

Well....thanks for breaking that down for us, ESPN!
