For Dan, it appears A. Officer may not be too fond of UConn. Per Rivals ...

"Recruiting is going pretty well," Officer said. "Right now I am looking at Syracuse, Louisville, Pittsburgh, and Old Dominion." Officer, 6-foot-4, 300 pounds talked about his recent trip to Syracuse.
...

"I am going to take my official visit during my season. Syracuse is definitely getting an official visit."
An official list of leaders has not been given out, but Officer mentioned some schools that are sticking out right now. "I do not have a top five or anything like that, but Syracuse, Louisville, and Pittsburgh are all standing out right now."

read the ant davis free story on rivals. hes a tall ath. would be a nice finishing touch to the wr corp. based off that story i have a few questions/comments.
1-who are the 3 wr? noel and bradley then who? summers?
2-so were looking for 4wr this class
3-is neally good to go after 1 year of juco maybe? or not?
4-i thought summers was a db. he is listed as 1 of the 14 wr offers we have out. if hes a db then were missing a offer. maybe fuchs the staff is thinking?
5-are they planning on making myers a wr?

this makes me wonder about my chart:eek:

They had a kid up here from Fla for this year's camp, Zach Benjamin 6'4" 187, wr
he was in one of the camp videos. No offer 5.5, 3* Rivals

interesting. davis must be higher on there chart then this kid. also there is a wr from the same hs as matt barone that's been on our radar who is tall. seems like they may be after height. we have lacked that somewhat in the past at wr.

he was high on tenn at one point. wonder if they are not in it any more. they have 17 commits right now. 3 of them are ol guys. unc has 16 and 2 of them are ol guys.
i fear rutgers can keep him home. it may come down to rutgers vs uconn and they would have the home advantage. hope he falls in love with our facilities when he visits. rutgers has plenty of room like us commit wise.

-can some one with a rivals sub check out mariners profile and see what his top 4 are so i can edit the chart as needed. thanks.
-dunn has us warm on 247 now. not sure if he has a wvu offer or not tho. he does have wake and ucf offers. hopefully hadley gets him on board.
-callinan picking ruty or bc.
-uconn and minn are parkers 2 bcs offers so we should have a good shot with him

thanks whitefang. tho i think u need to cut that down so u dont get in any trouble. appreciate the info tho. based off that i would say were in the game with him. seems like he wants a acc offer but who knows if it comes.

I like the Anthony Davis numbers, 6'4" with 36" vertical leap. We're stockpiling these tall receivers and could really overwhelm the defense with size, especially if we get Fuchs.

The third WR has to be Summers or Myers. Can't tell from Summers' highlight video whether he'd be better at WR or CB, but it's offense-heavy:

Interesting notes about Miller on ToS

Miller will soon declare a top five and, as of now, Rutgers, UConn and North Carolina are three of those five schools with the other two still undecided. "I'll probably name those five a month from now and those are the schools I'll take my official visits to," Miller said.

"The plan is to wait until signing day but I feel like I'm being penalized by some schools for taking a long time. It seems like the new norm is for kids to commit real early."

Rutgers had a big OL class last year, 5 o-linemen 3 of them 4* (http://rutgers.247sports.com/Season/2012-Football/Commits). We're losing a few seniors, don't have much depth, and can make at least as good a case for immediate playing time. ... I agree that Rutgers seems like the leader but hopefully his visit will make up the ground. He's been to Rutgers a ton, not sure if he's even visited us yet.

He is going to take official visits to Air Force, Connecticut and Temple.

Marriner added he will likely choose a school before the season starts.

I hope to see Joyner in green this fall. I've been a fan of this kid since last year when he camped with us and did well; the article was posted on Rivals last year. I wonder why he didn't do any camps this year. Are post grads allowed to camp since they've actually graduated?

-mackenro alexander got a uconn offer. he is high on fsu tho and were one of like 20 just in the pool. he gets red. same hs as griffin fwiw. now's the time to put one of those both are commit able if offers out...

-callinan to bc. good get for them over ruty. clown shoes by bc taking more kids but telling a fl kid they are full. hope this was just a your offer is now good post isaacs dc thing. good ole spaz. can't wait for the next dc i told u so nah nah the boo boo. if it was just a backup plan to isaacs that callinan was waiting for a commit able offer then thats great news. they may in fact truthfully be full. what a class minus 4 kids and montgomery is down to 4...

-filled out the depth non offer chart somewhat.

Burlingame will have 2 years to play rock. He will be 2 deep right away imho and get time. Him being a juco kinda spreads himself away from flo and possibly montgomery.

It is possible the BCU was "full" at a certain position, but does not have a "full" recruiting class. I think the kid they were looking at was a safety and they already had two safety commits.

BCU would HAVE to take Montgomery if he wanted to commit. This would be the only top Mass kid that they would have successfully recruited in a couple of years. There is no way they would tell Montgomery that there is no scholly available. Vandy just picked up a DT commit yesterday, so that may bump Montgomery down on their list a bit. Hoping Montgomery makes that final trip to UConn as he as talked about. Still think that UVA is the leader for him, with only 1 DT commit and McDonald from Mass already committed there. Gotta remember that UConn has 2 DT commits in Fatukasi and Burlingame. However, not sure how many years of eligibility Burlingame has coming from a JC.

Thanks Dan,

That puts UConn on an even field with UVA and BCU in terms of number of DTs in the class as Burlingame really won't be looked at as an incoming freshman. Montgomery supposedly visited UVA yesterday and may still be there today. Hearing no news would be a good thing. Still wants to see UConn again before deciding. Would be great to have the lat visit.

Montgomery IMO isn't a guy who starts right away still raw but his upside is extremely high. NFL upside without a doubt in my mind. And on Neil Morrison there was more than a numbers crunch there......

-taylor set official visits to bc and nebraska. he has a good list of offers and i haven't seen anything uconn positive from him. he goes red.
-wright just got offers from psu and ncst. we were the first in on him and i think he visited recently.

with wrights 2 new offers, anyone got the scoop on who leads?

It sounds like NC State leads, but Penn State and UConn fill out his top 3 based on this tweet: https://twitter.com/niebuhr247/status/237385989801254912

Maybe we should bring him in for the NC State game.

thanks
i like that idea.

so i'll put him purple as it sounds like were in it being one of his top picks but we don't lead.

Any idea how big this recruiting class is gonna be this year. I was figuring that they wanted maybe 20-22 kids, but with the transfers and guys getting kicked off the team there should be a few extra spots to bring in a class of about 23-25.
i was at 20 before a couple kids left. i'm now running with the guess of 25 between 1 or 2 more leaving this spring and a couple rs jr's not coming back.

anthony davis got a north colorado offer 2day.

mack to Umass. no surprise but its some one we have kept a eye on. but he comes off the depth chart as we have walsh and are after big fish at rb it seems. clay is our backup at rb it seems if we strike out as of right now.

Interesting Montgomery articles on Rivals. Made the trip to UVA but didn't seem all that fired up about it. Visited Friday but had to leave for some reason, then cam back on Monday and met the coaches and some players. Nothing hugely positive about UVA. Still planning another visit to UConn. May do officials to UVA, Vandy and Missouri before making the decision. Don't think Vandy has a spot for him now. Missouri is a new name he mentioned.

Boy, that 6'5 295lbs would look awful nice in National Flag Blue with the block C on the helmet to match.... Hopefully the SEC lure in MO will wear off and he decides to stay closer to home and ultimately ends up a Husky

I wonder why Davis decided not to prep @ Cheshire. He said in the Rivals article that he chose Vermont for more exposure. Didn't know Vermont was up there recruiting-wise.
