yup, i wrote about him in my new england thread last week. u should check that thread out hank. do u know of other new england kids that bc is watching? i think i got most of them in the thread. i noticed u guys have offered a good amunt of kids already for the 2013 class but only a couple new england guys.

The only kid that surprised me on the New England thread was the kid from Doherty HS in Worcester. I had not heard of anything from him locally. Also surprised that a kid with his size was not playing basketball. I guess he does the high jump (did 6-0 in the district meet good for third place) for the track team.

Hurst looks like a baller. Thanks for the work you put into recruiting, Huskyfandan. You should try and work for the UConn Rivals site. Does he have other offers or were we his first?

I remember his dad. He was a fair to middling sized cornerback. Mom must have had some big men in her family because that's a big kid.

Was Hurst Sr. the dude that got all crossed up by Barry Sanders in that classic clip that gets played all the time? Where Barry Sanders breaks off a long run and the DB turns the wrong way like three times as he is running downfield?

Anzalone is a player...6-3 220+ lb OLB

Looks like a sure wrap up tackler. Good size agility and quickness. I like what I saw from his 2011 highlights.

Is this unusual in the amount of offers we have out, or is it that we never received this amount of info on recruits. I know RE kept things more secretive. Looks to me we are trying to get involved with and offer kids that have a higher profile.

Matt Barone from PA was offered by UConn today, perfect build for a guard (@mattbarone1):

also maybe we could pin this thread so we don't lose it and entitle it "2013 Recruiting Thread"

Very well built, STRONG young man. Saw that he was offered on twitter a little earlier this evening. He is a beast. Straight up smashes dudes at the point of attack. Should be a great run blocker. Would make for a nice guard indeed.

Love, love, love seeing that nasty streak in a lineman. Tough, strong kid, looke like he could play either OG or DT. Don't know if he is quick enough for DT though. Either way, looks to have definite D1 level talent the way I see it.

According to Rivals, today we offered both 2013 TE Cameron Stapleton and 2014 OL Jay Hayes. Both are from Poly Prep in Brooklyn.

Cameron's sophomore highlights. He also has vids on youtube from NUC events, same with Hayes.

so where are we with laray smith. we gonna close the deal on him? i hope so. he would prob be the earliest 4* player we have ever got if so.

I really hope so. Love what I saw in his highlight tapes. Bonfide playmaker. Good frame to pack on some muscle. He's up to 4 stars now?

According to 247, I think he will be a high 3* on the other sites. I will take him any day no matter how many stars he has. I really like his abilities, he seemed to enjoy his visit so as long as we keep that feeling resonating with him, he could be ours. He wants a fast paced offense and I could see him really fitting well on the screen plays, reminds me a lot of a young Todman. He will only get better in our strength training program.
