13th Scholarship Player - Apostolos Roumoglou - 6'7 G - Greece

He played even less for PAOK mateco last year than he did for the U18 team. 4 minutes a game over 3 games (team played 8).

Wow...great looking form on his shot. This must've been the guy Borges was referring to....sounds like it was almost a done deal already and probably just going through the red tape.

Are you kidding? His shot looks like Michael Kidd Gilchrest

Can't complain about another shooter. I don't know a thing about the kid, but I love to see us expanding our recruiting footprint outside the northeast.
Northeast Israel or Greece or both?

Gotta Joey Calceterra vibe about him.. JK

Playing with House Money at spot #13.. Roll the dice and see what happens.. Welcome to Storrs

UConn men’s basketball adds second international player, Apostolos Roumoglou from Greece

Hurley noted that he wants to continue recruiting internationally, but begin earlier in future years to help find top talent.

Hurley spent the last month on Zoom calls with Roumoglou and watching film. He never saw Roumoglou or Hasson play in person until they arrived on campus.

UConn already has a talented roster, so Roumoglou and Hasson will mostly be expected to help the team in practices as they get comfortable in their new surroundings.

“We already know we can play 10 right here,” Hurley said, “and the 10th guy may even deserve a little bit more than he’s gonna get. At the minimum here we know we’ve got 10 that have a chance to battle for top-nine minutes or top-eight minutes or whatever. It’s the most competitive top-10 that we’ve had since I’ve been here.”

Roumoglou did not play with the team Friday as he still needs to pass a physical and a medical exam.

Sneaky recruiting...nobody on the BY knew about this?

I wonder if his LN is pronounced "Room Aglow"?
Makes sense since it sure seems like the kid can light it up.

played 40 minutes vs Estonia ... 6-8 from 3

Hurley straight up said these euros aren't going to play. I'd dial it back folks
He didn’t play Rahsool or Johnson last year these guys aren’t going to sniff a second of playing time.

Sorry to seem cynical, but barring a rash of injuries, is it really likely that these last minute European recruits to actually get much PT? Or are they mainly being recruited to provide practice bodies?

Silly talk. Seems like a good add - trust the staff. If he ends up in the rotatio, that would be awesom. Go UConn
