Apostolos Kouvádes!37% from 3 but 31% overall? Is that a typo?
Northeast Israel or Greece or both? Can't complain about another shooter. I don't know a thing about the kid, but I love to see us expanding our recruiting footprint outside the northeast.
huhAre you kidding? His shot looks like Michael Kidd Gilchrest
Sneaky recruiting...nobody on the BY knew about this?
I wonder if his LN is pronounced "Room Aglow"?
It's their second club: PAOK mateco at the Basketball Champions League 2022 - FIBA.basketballSo this kid played in a Greek professional league already?
I can't believe we had no one in the urinals over there!Damn, we are casual as hell
Makes sense since it sure seems like the kid can light it up.Sneaky recruiting...nobody on the BY knew about this?

Chief knew. He was just holding his cards close to vestSneaky recruiting...nobody on the BY knew about this?

So when I Google this guy, the PAOK website had an article on 8/22 stating he was going to UConn.

He didn’t play Rahsool or Johnson last year these guys aren’t going to sniff a second of playing time.Hurley straight up said these euros aren't going to play. I'd dial it back folks
I think most understand that. This isn't like last year where we thought guys like Rahsool were going to be somewhat ready.Hurley straight up said these euros aren't going to play. I'd dial it back folks
Kind of a weird comment, unless I’m reading into it too much. Seems like he’s implying that neither of the players he recruited are “top talent,” but rather fliers that would be a nice surprise if they pan out.UConn men’s basketball adds second international player, Apostolos Roumoglou from Greece
Hurley noted that he wants to continue recruiting internationally, but begin earlier in future years to help find top talent.
maybe he stepped on the line on one of them for 2?Is there tape of him doing anything other than shooting a 3 pointer?
You taking this year? Probably not. Or three years? Hopefully.Sorry to seem cynical, but barring a rash of injuries, is it really likely that these last minute European recruits to actually get much PT? Or are they mainly being recruited to provide practice bodies?
Hurley hasn’t seen either play in person, so assuming it’s a flyer on their skills & athleticism. But Hurley did spend plenty of time talking to both via Zoom before bringing them to UConn. Meaning regardless if they surprise or not on the floor, they have the character to contribute to the team culture.Kind of a weird comment, unless I’m reading into it too much. If that’s the case, are these likely mid-ceiling low-floor players who were brought in under the assumption they’d sit at scholarships number 12/13 for a couple years and, unless they really surprise, return to overseas play?
Roo-MOW-glue
I know nothing about the Hellenic student population, but Greece is the home of the Olympics, the Antetokounmpos and the Gyros and that should be celebrated through good food, good basketball and athletic domination.UConn should have a consistent pipeline of players from Greece. There is a strong Hellenic student presence on campus.
It’s impossible to say. They will practice and if they tear it up, a smart coach will play them. You just never know.
