Just an observation - While at a ND - DePaul game a few years back I took notice of the fact that during time outs MM would confer with Niele (at length) before addressing the troops. Don't know if that was the norm
I was in the "Glass Half Empty" crowd (No Final Four) - But I have put on my "Rose Colored Glasses" and joined the "Glass Half Full" crowd. Various posters have convinced me that because the team has improved so much that a final four is a real possibility and that warms my heart.
I enjoy going to Northwestern games - They are having a wonderful season - You can watch them beat Illinois tomorrow on TV for at least a share of the Big Ten title - But beating Iowa or Maryland - I don't see it
I accepted the loss to Baylor but can not accept, under any circumstances, a loss to Tenn. The margin of victory will come down to which Uconn team takes the court. If the score is close it will bring me no joy. But if it's a beat down- Oh My - What sweet ecstasy that would be. The last time the...
I was at the Loyola DePaul game yesterday and with minutes to go DePaul was down by 1 but came back to win. Incredibly DePaul pressed the ENTIRE game and poor Loyola was befuddled and was still turning the ball over at the end.
I was at the game and my major takeaway was that Walker right now is unstoppable - DePaul tried everything including face guarding her - to no avail. Yes Uconn needs to correct some things but then what team doesn't. Lets enjoy the ride - It's going to be quite thrilling
I was at the Northwestern - DePaul game which DePaul won in the last minute. They were unable to handle Northwestern's bigs. I am looking forward to seeing the game in person and while Couch Bruno's teams are always fun to watch remember they have no answer to BIGS
"
I enjoyed watching him play for the Cubs - such a wonderful hitter. Watching your loved one slowing disappear while fighting that disease is so sad. R.I.P.
The wife and I make a pilgrimage to Arlington Park once a year - Such a beautiful race course - Lots of wonderful memories - The announcer saying " here they come spinning out of the turn" was his calling card. I was fond of many horses but Kelso was my all time favorite
Louisville's coach told the refs that he was not going to foul but try for a "jump ball". He planted the seed and that's what they saw. All credit to Jeff Walz
Like you I would like to see Iowa win ( Daughter went there ). If Baylor wins ( likely ) it's all good because of what you wrote about Baylor. On the flip side I am rooting for Stanford just because we have already played N.D. Tonight is must see T.V.
Each one of the starting five are capable of coming up big in a game. I expect different players to have a big game depending on whom we play. The BIG unknown is Olivia ( fingers crossed there). This is going to be such fun - can't wait..
I listened to the album " The Sound Of Jazz" while living in Louisiana ( compliments of Uncle Sam ). Just played it again for old time sake. Just wonderful.
Uconn has the talent to win it all - They just need more playing time together - Hope the remaining games will give them enough time to jell - The clock is ticking
Northwestern might surprise a few people. Lindsey Pulliam is an absolute joy to watch. Will see she in action against Lindsay Whalens Golden Gophers on 31 Jan. Should be a good game.
Unlike some of the surly loudmouth coaches out there coach Bruno is an old school gentleman. He has said in the past that he would like to coach a "big" team (like baylor) just once to see what it feels like. Instead he executes a game plan with what he has -press and shoot - platoon - then...
The only thing more amazing to me than the "Beatdown" was how N.D. totally lost their composure. the coaches must address that issue - if they don't we will "own" them if we meet them again.
The next time I see Coombs play I will take off my " Rose Colored Glasses" because from what I have seen she is not afraid to try and make things happen unlike some of the other subs.
I moved from our assigned seats to an empty area ( of which there were many). My stress came from the announcer - when UCONN plays here next year I will have ear plugs. Game went as expected. My only concern was how badly coach Bruno was limping
