    Big East Transfer Portal

For optics, I would much rather be the NIT champ than to have played in no tournaments. I also like Shaheen a lot more than Pitino.

UConn Football 2024 Spring FanFest (April 21st @ Morrone Stadium)

Cole Welliver is the guy. Standing around with the QBs, he looks like a man among boys (even though he’s the youngest). Taking snaps and reading the D, he’s casual and looks like the game is slower for him than the others. And his throws were effortless! All parts of the field, with a soft...

    Jim Mora: Something feels different

Jim Mora’s instagram is “uconncoachmora”, where he made UConn football posts as recently as April 3rd, March 31st, and March 26. Jim Mora’s Twitter/X is “CoachJimMoraFB”. He posted about UConn football YESTERDAY, about half a dozen tweets about Christian Haynes on 4/6, a few more UConn...

    Jim Mora: Something feels different

The Big Ten never had a shot at winning the NCAA title. No point in obsessing over the champions after the fact.

    Jim Mora: Something feels different

Where are these rumors coming from? I hadn’t heard it, and it does seem like a step down from where he is now. Although his stock is as high as it’s ever been, maybe ASU is offering him a hefty raise? We can’t let him go!

UConn Spring Football Updates (1st Practice 3/19/24)

I have mixed feelings, watching the defense pick off the offense in practice.

Assistant Football Coach/QB Coach/Pass Game Coordinator > Brad Robbins

I like his experience recruiting and success in Virginia. He has limited time as a QB coach but did well in that role… he seems to have done well in all roles and is an up and coming coach… here’s to many great successes at UConn!

Assistant Football Coach/QB Coach/Pass Game Coordinator > Brad Robbins

If he is willing to leave the pros, I would love to see it happen! He just got hired by the Falcons, but a bump up from passing specialist to OC at the Alma mater might be tempting enough. He has been QB coach/worked with Justin Herbert in the pros, and Trevor Lawrence/Justin Fields in...

Here’s something in he middle of nothing.

You had me at “UConn is destined to be picked up by someone soon”, I will drink that cool aid every time.

    EA Sports CFB 2025

If they unionize then they stop receiving $600 plus a copy of the game. There are only a handful of guys that are worth more than $600 to EA. Those kids are in college for a couple years to get paid before the NFL. Those players, that will sell more copies of the game, are getting paid...

    UConn Football Webinar this evening

Wow I am ecstatic early this year, usually I have to wait until spring for my unbridled enthusiasm.

UConn Outbound Transfers for 8/1/23>7/31/24 Cycle

He is probably more focused on working out and finding his next $chool than he is focused on social media. Good for him, I’m sure he’ll update it eventually.

2024 UConn Football Commit - Malachi McLean (Manvel, Texas)

Looks like a solid get from NMSU. He played in all 11 games as a reserve his freshman year, looks like he was getting more playing time last year as a sophomore but then got hurt and missed most of the season. The kid has a couple years of eligibility left and is healthy now, let’s goooo...

UConn Football Class of 2024 - NLI Early Signing Day Thread/Info (12/20/23>12/22/23)

Chucky Tackle is a great name for a football player, a hometown hero whose name will pay for itself in NIL. Offer that kid the bag, and his younger brother Chunky Tackle too!

UConn Outbound Transfers for 8/1/23>7/31/24 Cycle

That’s just a talking point that people use rather than saying “it’s about the money”. Are there some kids who value something more? Yes sure, but it’s mostly about the money. You’re fooling yourself if you believe otherwise.

UConn Outbound Transfers for 8/1/23>7/31/24 Cycle

If a student like Joly is able to secure and save/invest NIL money while getting his degree at another school, it’s probably a good move regardless whether they have NFL-aspirations or not. Of course, if they transfer and then have a bunch of fun wasting the NIL money… it was probably a...

Burton: “We want to be a leader in NIL in Group of Five”

Is there any momentum for investing a greater percent of the new money into the endowment vs spending on current use projects? It would be nice if the department had more endowment revenue so they could be less dependent on annual gifts…

Burton: “We want to be a leader in NIL in Group of Five”

I thought it was more about getting rid of Diaco than pushing for Edsall. We had no money for the Diaco buyout, and then Edsall was the only bum available that we could afford. At the time it was absolutely worth it to move on from Diaco, so thanks to the Burtons for that.

Burton: “We want to be a leader in NIL in Group of Five”

Jason Belzer says a top tight end is worth around $100k in the portal, but word on the street is that our TE just got around TRIPLE that to go to Tennessee. So all these numbers are outdated and understated. Chumps like us are trying to adjust to, “the big boys spent $1.5M on transfers last...

UConn Outbound Transfers for 8/1/23>7/31/24 Cycle

My “little” cousin just wrapped up his playing career there… I have been attending Trinity games on weekends that UConn is away, and I love it! The tailgating is about a hundred yards from the gate. At halftime, you can walk out and fire up the grill for some quick burgers/dogs/beers between...

    Jerry Kill

You’re not wrong. Kill had previously stepped down from Minnesota due to some health concerns, but was ready to get back in the coaching game at a lesser commitment than head coach. Benedict wanted Kill to come in as OC/associate head coach and Diaco said no, legend has it this is what led to...
