Interesting, painful, and timely that this very good thread appears today.
Just yesterday I learned of the natural death of a Marine friend of mine
who fought with the Fifth Division in the brutal battle at Iwo Jima taking Mount Suribachi. Who will ever forget the photo of our flag...
PACO: A grin here on that, as my memory, which was once keen, and what you'd expect with a high level IQ, sure does welcome reminders these days. STILL grinning, and I thank you.
PacoBlaze: a grateful tip of the cap to you for sending along this welcome note re game time. Happy campers here, except for fact that TY not working this AM....windy and rainy, so perhaps will get squared away soon. Thank you.
stamfordhusky Appreciation to you for clarifying our uncertainty re the sched for 29th. Would send you a hot dog as "thanks" if I could, as that is what we said when your news of a game for sure on 29th arrived.
Wife and I all set for the variety of action on Nov 28., having already taped all that is on for that day. But re the next day (Nov 29) we are not clear about whether there is a game for our team or not. We find mention of Maine and Miss State for that day but are not sure if we are playing...
My hunch is that this post-Azzi ranking might well light a firecracker some where in the vicinity of Azzi. (Being a gentleman on occasion, I won't specify exactly where, knowing that you can readily figger that out for yourselves)
Let's factor in that Geno taught the SC coach, whose name I can't remember, just about all she knows about coaching.
Didn't realize that ND was so highly rated.
ROCK : you da man as always. But one glitch re this article: looks like you have to pay for it to continue reading it after the initial paragraph or so???
WENT ON SNY RE NOV 28. SHOWS PREGAME, GAME, POSTGAME and "UCONN UNDEFEATED," going from noon to about 4PM . Have taped them all already, and they do show up on SNY. Beyond that date I have no other news thus far.
BRS: Very much appreciated as always. Love those displays and this one was nice a large which is very helpful to the folks with visual problems. One question: we don't have your chart in front of us know, but wasn't there a repeat spread of one of the years?? If intentional...
Thank you, Nan, for doing this yearly. My wife and I send our deep and enduring appreciation to all of you who have served our nation. We FEEL the sacrifices you have made.
Since VERY early childhood have had a great interest in team colors, mascots and uniforms. Really dig this uni BIG time. True UCONN colors in full plus SUPER clean and crisp look. Outfit of CHAMPTIONS; kinda like Wheaties.
CHARLIE: I understand your position. On the other hand, one's college experience is a once in a lifetime thing, and all too short if you are an athlete. Her college athletic experience has not been all that she might have hoped for up to now, and I hope SHE realizes that and will opt to...
ALUMINNY69: this one is right up my alley. I had a hit once; as I recall it was on a curve ball at that. Given that it was the only hit of my hardball career, you'll understand that the sweet memory lingers on down the the years. It was a triple. (Softball a whole other story. was a...
Wife and I so pleased to hear the stories you all have told. Hope there will be more. It can be helpful to unload your troubles to wiling listeners;
likewise it is surely is a blessing to hear uplifting stories in challenging times.
Interesting all around. Thank you and stay well. Sounds like you are faring better than some we've heard about. We have one friendship in particular, several decades in depth, where the husband got Covid in Florida and ended up being medevaced (sp?) to Mass General in Boston. Home now...
