...and offense sides, they didn't execute the play Adia was calling or trying to call, leaving Adia visibly frustrated, which is rare.
JadaWilliams remains frustrated with her teammates, at times. I get they are apparently not in the right position . . . but she shouldn't show her annoyance...
Yes, coaching is tough. Yes, coaching is increasingly tough. Yes, Barnes is a flawed coach.
As the seasons go by Barnes' flaws becoming increasingly apparent.
Utah did have a great deal to do with exposing both the kitties and Barnes coaching flaws. The kitties tend to have a Kim Mulkey...
...didn't have much to do with the lack of Arizona scoring. That is 100% on Adia and her team. NO ONE wanted to shoot besides Swann and JadaWilliams (and maybe Jah); Cunningham simply has not grown regarding not fouling and you will never win a game when you throw up random shots late in the...
...to Vandy their previous game due to their big fouling out with 5 minutes left. This time it was Arizona's turn as their best player JadaWilliams was sitting early in the 3rd quarter with 4 fouls. Cal took care of it from there although it was very competitive till late in the game.
Duke...
...5 minutes to go. After that, Michigan State took over.
Over the last four days conference is now 18 - 4
A side note: I watched the Arizona/Vandy game and it was a battle. I'm here to tell you JadaWilliams is the real deal. Vandy's duo of Blakes/Pierre combined for 48 of team's total 71 points.
...a very good season. If the team continues to play the way it has been, it isn't that they will necessarily lose that many upsets, but they may lose some and in general make games closer than they ought to be.
And yes, JadaWilliams is key, although long term Paris and Swann are great prospects.
I appreciate the recap, I was unable to watch the game, just kept an eye on the ESPN play-by-play. Does it seem like Oregon has a good shot of making it into MM? Or too soon to tell?
...is doing the right thing by not playing their freshman much. But I do still like their overall collection of talent and PK is starting to get healthy. Their occ schedule is pretty good.
On another note, can Arizona's loss be attributed to no JadaWilliams or are they just not very good this...
Caught the LSU exhibition games on ESPN app. Richard was sneaky good. She will get minutes. Seems underrated coming out of high school albeit inferior competition but i definitely liked what I saw of her.
I’m a fan of Jada Richard, I remember watching her drop 40 on Mikaylah Williams in HS. Not sure how much she plays this year with the depth but from all accounts reading they expect big things from her.
While not gaining national attention does suck for some of these athletes, that could also be a positive for them. The push for athletes to go on the shoe circuit doesn't always benefit them from what I'm starting to observe. Going under the radar also helps keep expectations realistic versus...
Not that you can take much out of exhibition but one thing is certain, guard depth/speed and quickness is night and day compared to last years team.
Sheppard was a steal in my opinion, and will be a good one for the tigers and freshmen Jada Richard (who received non stop praise all fall)...
I may be one of the few actually pretty excited to see what this LSU team looks like this year with Angel Reese no longer there and Hailey Van Lith having moved on. I think things will be much more tame around the program this year and it will be a good for all IMO. Despite a botched 2024 recruiting class...

Thanks. Pretty good high school to work on forming a relationship with. I would bet that there are other schools that produce D-1 talent in that county.
Dawn has said that she wants to play two California schools each year that we play out there. I can’t think of a better second school to pair...
...96 miles from Pauley Pavilion. Tehina’s family attended Oregon games at UCLA when she played for the Ducks and will no doubt attend the South Carolina-UCLA game November 24th. Paopao went to La Jolla Country Day School, the same school Kelsey Plum, JadaWilliams, and Breya Cunningham attended.
How do ppl feel about this one. I thought since they had JadaWilliams who they really believe in and is one of their leaders at point, it didn't really make sense. I also think they really need shooting, so she will have to improve in this area. I really like her game just not sure about the fit
Sounds like you're referring to JadaWilliams. I remember her being part of a group called "Certified Bucket Getters" when she was in high school. They had quite a few tagged with that moniker, including a couple Canadians (Day-Wilson & Lattimore). Don't see much of it now, but it obviously...
I won't be surprised to see either Arizona or Auburn upset Syracuse. For Arizona, JadaWilliams is fiery, and her high school teammate, Breya Cunningham, is an excellent post player.
I haven’t followed it very closely. I’d think the friends from high school, Breya Cunningham and JadaWilliams could be the core of something special. The loss of Nnaji is bound to hurt. But Barnes should be able to build something around those two.
...along nicely.
I was musing the other day about the number of quick little guards who entered D1 this year -- KK, Hidalgo, Fulwiley, JadaWilliams, etc. -- and wondering where KK stands in that crew. After today, I'd have to say very near the top. Hidalgo seems a bit more advanced...
...better shape than what I saw of her in high school. That pair, Cunningham and Nnaji could be a formidable front court soon enough.
2) JadaWilliams looks like a pretty good point guard, though still developing. But she doesn't look as quick as she did in high school. Against D1 competition...
...it is", doesn't bother Adia)) as players getting embarrassed being told to talk about themselves, but they seemed a really nice group. JadaWilliams is a hoot.
To clarify, at least per the local paper I read, Cunningham's clearance came at half-time. She had seen the Doctor during the day...
Adia Barnes acknowledges that she misjudged the extent of the impact of recruiting over incoming freshmen. She says the incoming freshmens' expectations have changed over the past three or four years. She has taken a different approach to taking players out of the transfer portal and trying...
It was stated in the article in tonight's game. I couldn't track it down in official documents.
I don't know why Lauren Ware left, exactly, but most of the rest were with Adia's blessing. I don't think her player management skills are all that great at times. I think the ranking reflects a...
...of transfers and less the stellar results. They did add a few top 25 players in Montaya Dew (#8) and Breya Cunningham (#14) and #21 JadaWilliams but they did lose stalwart Lauren Ware which is pretty surprising.
The Kitties need those 3 freshman to click right away or it could be a rough...
Just a side note about JadaWilliams at Arizona: she will enjoy being reunited with Breya Cunningham, but that’s not the reason she switched. I’m pretty sure it’s because Rice chose UCLA. Jada’s parents had paid for a couple of professionally edited ‘reveal’ videos that she distributed to...
JadaWilliams and Breya Cunningham are very close, having played two seasons together at La Jolla Country Day as well as on some USAB junior national teams. That no doubt contributed to Williams’ decision to commit to Arizona once Cunningham did. Williams committed to UCLA in Mar 2021. PG...
Surprised you don't have this as "Adia Barnes/Breya Cunningham/JadaWilliams pick". Cunningham and Williams were really effective as a duo during their prep school days together. Also thought Williams decommitted from UCLA because of her relationship with Cunningham, but I could be mistaken.
