Watching some Big Sky action, a rock fight between Montana St. and Sacramento St. Sac. St. has a freshman from Australia named Amoore. Younger sister of Georgia. Looks a lot like her too.

Horns avoid disaster, but only beat hapless Missouri by 9 in Austin. I'm telling ya, something's not quite right with Texas.

Arkansas won tonight! Handily too, 72-51 over Texas A&M. And I thought the Aggies had been gaining a bit of momentum lately.
I think the story this year for Texas A&M has been injuries. They just got back two players from injury only to have Coulibaly be injured and out for the rest of the season.

Aside from being a bit shorthanded inside, there is no reason for LSU’s defense to be this bad. Their athleticism is off the charts and Mulkey was known as an excellent defensive coach at Baylor.

Oklahoma lives and dies by their O, always has.
Lots of LSU concern here.

Normally their defense is good: 62 points per game.

Strange game, tons of fouls, techs, ejections, LSU choked away a 24 PT lead...but behind Makayla Williams 38 points w7 threes..... they still WON.

Oklahoma #4 in SEC, and recently had been clubhouse leader for the #8 spot. (meanwhile Ohio St and Duke)

LSU never looks good, but they beat and hang with the good teams. Still will be a #2 seed and most likely like usual still there in round of 8.

That's been the theme of this years LSU team, Play up and down to competition. Its a very good team but also vulnerable since they dont maintain consistency in how they play. They will have spurts (1-2 quarters of brilliant ball) but then just not show up for the other 1-2 quarters. PG play is erratic from SDW and LSU doesn't have a real center inside to compliment Morrow. Sa'Myah is a 4, not a 5, and she is coming off an ACL injury (now has had both ACL's repairs). Flaujae is good but she is a turnover machine and her decision making has been very poor overall this year. I feel she hasn't been as good as what she was at the end of last season in my opinion. Obviously a gifted offensive player but she is so reckless with the ball and it hurts LSU.

This group has to be the first Mulkey coached team that I can remember who legit does not want to play defense very often. Defense is all about effort and grit, this group just seems to want to score and dont have the same effort and intensity on the other side of the ball.

Agree with all. Despite our griping, they will enter ncaa tourney at 30-4, will be a #2 seed, and will show up in elite 8.

Morrow will be 1st team AA. FJ 3rd team. Williams hon men.

In elite 8 pending matchups, anything can happen. Mulkey's first and worse LSU team even avoided Goliath and won an unexpected natty. Many complained, but trophy has not been taken away yet.

Not sure if anything's necessarily wrong, but I don't think we're playing well these last 3 games.

On MLK night, Texas routed Maryland in New Jersey; best game played all season. Three nights later Horns went down to the wire beating Tennessee at home. Three days later they tussled with Ole Miss in Oxford before squeaking out a win; starting PF Aaliyah Moore missed the game with tendinitis in her knee. So, that was 3 games in 7 days.

Last night's home game against Mizzou was supposed to be a bit of a "breather" as Mizzou was 1-6 in SEC play; Texas had Moore and backup PF Justice Carlton out with the flu. And, it was announced that Michigan transfer, Laila Phelia who had not played since early December due to a retina issue with her eye will redshirt this season. So, lots of players out last night. Still, I wasn't happy how the team played on offense and especially on defense.

I think it all comes down to matchups. Ole Miss and Mizzou are known to have really physical teams and that probably help them counter Texas's physicality. Mizzou is always a tough out for South Carolina, too, no matter how bad their record is.

Regarding Phelia, glad to learn she was able to redshirt. Really hope the retina issue heals and she can compete again.

Sorry to hear that about Phelia. When she committed to Texas I thought she’d complete a three-headed monster at guard. Hopefully she can become healthy and play next season. If she does, Texas is an early contender for best backcourt in the nation with Booker/Lee/Phelia/Harmon another year after her ACL and possibly Aaliyah Chavez too.

Arizona @ Utah going on currently. Beginning of Q2, the broadcast duo brought out a special guest: former Utah coach Lynne Roberts. That felt awkward to me. She ditched her team in November to join the LA Sparks.

What is the opposite of home cooking? Utah fans are going crazy. Arizona has drawn a bunch of questionable charging fouls. Combined w/ the Wildcats mugging the ball handler on the full court press every possession, and no fouls being called, but plenty of jump balls, the zebras are doing zero favors for the home town Utes.

Utah has imploded. Sprinted out to an 18 point lead just after half time, it's shrunk to 3.

edit--26-4 run, Arizona up by 4

Refs are crazy. After ignoring a bunch of fouls by Arizona, now they are calling them for everything. Utah in the bonus about 4 1/2 minutes into Q4.

Arizona wore themselves out with that big rally, Utah pulls away down the stretch. Big games for Gianna Kneepkens and Jada Williams for their respective teams. Utes need to work on their press break obviously.

What happened to Saturdays? Used to be a big day for womens hoops. Now almost nothing. There are a ton of games, but 99.9% of them are mid major conferences. There are a couple Big 12 games, I think that's it for P4+. Weird. Day starts w/ a big one, Oklahoma St. @ West Virginia.

Okay, 3 Big 12 and 1 Big East games.

Did you notice it was an old Pac12 group. Tiffany Bird, Michael Price and In'Fini Robinson. I kid that Price and Robinson are 2 of my wife's favorites because years ago Price handed her a piece of debris from the floor with the "don't say I don't give you anything" line, and around that time Robinson randomly high-fived my wife during her warmups.
