Week 13 - Jan 27 to Feb 2

There is nothing good sports wise today. I am surprised women’s college basketball didn’t put a marquee game on the schedule.

She’s another one of the sophomores who I think could get minutes in the WNBA today. Up there with Bueckers as one of the purest shooters in the nation.
Agreed--her game reminds me of Cappie Pondexter's. She's sort of lost in the shuffle in terms of getting recognition but is having a great season.

Are you saying that High Point vs Presbyterian isn't a marquee game?

Last season, a #5 seeded Blue Hose squad knocked off #1 seeded HPU on HPU's home floor on its way to its first ever Big South Tournament championship. Tonight is the first time since that upset that the two squads meet... yes again on HPU's home floor.

In the CAA... The mighty Aggies of NCA&T improved to a league leading 8-1 record after a 74-51 beatdown of longtime rival Hampton.

More impressive was the attendance. 4,847 fans turned out in a 5,000 seat arena on Greek Night. Club Corbett is a definite home court advantage for my Aggies. Love to see WBB get fan support

Love that crowd,

A lotta’ P-4s should hang their heads in shame

Something had to give, in this case BYU's road woes were overcome by Arizona St.'s woes playing anywhere. BYU 77-67 win. And that was with their best player Gibb having an off game.

Some interesting games on Sunday. Kentucky @ Oklahoma catches my eye.

High Point defeated Presbyterian 62-43 coupled with Longwood's loss... moves HPU to a tie for 1st in the Big South

UNCG put the beat down on Samford 78-66 and Wofford lost to ETSU so UNC-G moves into a tie for 1st in the SoCon

Of course on Friday NC A&T solidified its spot on top of the CAA and Duke is 1 game out of first in the ACC

Good crowd for Michigan today. They lead Oregon 21-10 early. I expect Michigan will win. I think oregon has had a good season, but they are a bit fraudulent imo.

Edit: every time I watch Michigan, I can see the vision with Olivia Olson. I can see why UConn wanted her so much.

Another Syracuse game where they snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. This time it comes against a middling UVA team. It’s just … sigh.

They sorely miss Fair. They have no one on this team who is a dynamic scorer who can pull the team up another rung.

Kyra Wood is a scrapper down in the paint, but she misses so many bunnies and putbacks. Woolley and Burrows can get hot from 3, but they’re just inconsistent.

Feels like a huge letdown from last season. No one has really shown up and balled out. What a shame. I have no lost love for Syracuse, but this is the only major team in basically the whole state (yes, we have other teams but people don’t care about Le Moyne, Buffalo, or UAlbany), and it would be nice to at least have some decent WBB to watch in person.

Great interview w/ Caitlin Clark during the 3rd quarter of this Iowa-USC game. I just don't see how anyone can dislike her if you actually listen to her.
You can say the same for a lot of popular players in various sports (Brady, Mahomes, the Manning brothers, Gretzky, Crosby, etc.). There's no logical answer. It's human nature.

Upset alert: Iowa up 7 with 4:21 to go. Would be a massive win for the program if they can hold on. Lucy Olsen and Addy O'Grady are outplaying Watkins/Iriafen right now. Crowd is insane with it being Clark's jersey retirement day.

This is about as close to a must win, without being an actual must win, for Iowa. You're a bubble team that has a chance to snatch a huge win against #4 Southern Cal on Caitlin Clark jersey retirement day.

Uh no as a one-time NE fan, there are a bunch of reasons to dislike Brady. Even Mahomes to some extent.
And Manning went to that school, but seems to be ok in spite of it.

I like Clark, but she has some nasty supporters.

When I looked at the sked, I thought USC @ Iowa could be interesting just because I know they have good fans/environment. But didn't expect this.

Glad that Fox featured it, and that they got rewarded for it.

Yes HUGE win for their NCAA chances. Given how bad the bubble usually is, we can be sure no one on the bubble is going to have anything close to a win like this.
