I thought this was a great game for us. I know people are complaining, but we almost won. Off night from Solo and AK. With Liam we win easily. As usual the refs were against us pretty clearly especially once we got to the second half. A call or two made fairly and we win. I think it was very encouraging to see Aiden emerge. If we can rely on him to play like this the rest of the way, we will be so much more dangerous. Overall a positive outcome in a tough road game with the refs stacked against us per usual. Can’t complain.

Steph Castle isn’t walking through that door . . .
Someone needs to or we can ride the horses we’ve been riding and get embarrassed. We may be about to go on a 4 game skid. I’m just looking for something new instead of the same old crap.

This is where I need you to say that Calhoun’s gift was not pulling young players when they made a mistake.
Got to put down the kush man. There’s video proof that that’s not what he did.

Unless all the freshman that played for him was perfect

He could play through them in practice. This ain't rec sports. We're looking to win and right now, playing a Hass/Mahaney platoon gives us the best chance to win
lol practice does not help you get better like real game experience does

We don’t deserve to be ranked. Hopefully this is a wake up call for Hurley, the self-proclaimed, “Best coach in basketball”. Do Better !!
Hurley has more National Championships than all other D1 coaches . He ain't self proclaimed, he's the best college coach in the game. If you can't handle the lows, then you don't deserve to bask in the highs

Not much left to say. Karaban has played himself out of the draft this year. Stewart and Ross look like clueless freshmen out there. Diarra being asked to do too much and it’s hard to watch cause he’s trying his best. No answers coming. McNelley is good but not the panacea coming off an ankle injury that some believe.

Surprised that Danny can’t get more out of this crew defensively but maybe they are just that bad and low bball IQ on defense.

Hoping to win a game or two in the tourney this year and get a clean slate next year. Tough to watch a team that sucks on d and is so brutal to watch on offense

Down two and UConn ran a GREAT play that got solo a relatively open three , which he missed but Hassan got a rebound . We are now in a situation where we need someone to create for themselves and the only person on the team that can do that was sitting on the bench with a boot on . Lot of positives in that game

It’s crazy that you say stuff like this. It’s honestly hilarious. Just say you were 12 when Calhoun retired and everything you know about that era you read on the internet. I mean this stuff is nuts. Enjoy yourself guy. I’m not into it.

Based on what? I just don’t get it. He’s as bad as Solo defensively and he has more zero point games than double figure games. Why does everyone think he is so much more productive than he actually is? I just don’t get it.
Ross guarded Foster for most of his time on the court. Stewart guarded Swain. Foster made 5 points this game. I'm not sure Stewart stopped Swain the entire time he was on the court.

With 1:31 left in the game Xavier up five Hunter gets free and had an easy bucket but Ross cuts to the basket and and caused him to miss. Johnson rebounds, Ball gets fouled shooting the three, makes all three free throws and lead gets cut to two - a five point swing.

Ross has a long way to go development wise. He screwed up big time at the end of the game as well as players getting by him on defense. I have no problem with people pointing out his deficiencies. But it's not a balanced assessment of his game.

Was at the game. If Stewart is not the game last possession instead of Ross what does that say about what Danny thinks about him as an offensive threat right now because he was getting posted up at will by swain.

Stewart was the worst player on the floor by a wide margin when he was in.
What plays are you referring to? Any moments in particular besides those two ugly fouls off shot contests? He was a ghost. Not involved at all. I’d like to see a full box score with minutes included.

Stewart does his best work with the ball in his hands, but he’s not got that alpha dawg personality, so he completely ghosts in games once he’s been left in the corner out of the flow of the offense for too long. Can’t blame Hurley at all for not running things through him, because he’s been hit or miss and doesn’t defend intelligently enough yet.

Guys like Stewart, Nowell, and Mahaney to an extent(great effort from him tonight), have clearly been battling with confidence and trust in themselves out there. Doesn’t seem like Hurley builds up Nowell or Stewart the way he intentionally builds up Mahaney and Ross. Major reason why throwing Abraham out there right now isn’t a good idea imo. Hurley won’t have trust in him to go out and play through mistakes, so Abraham would likely go out there and likely play tight, worried about missing shots or blowing defensive assignments and getting hooked.

Just reality when relying on projects and players in their first year of Big East basketball

I was blasting Jaylin, not Ross. I think Ross is infinitely better defensively than Stew. Argument could be made Ross defense won is the Gonzaga game.

You aren’t typically going to put someone in cold at that point, unless you have to (people fouled out, etc.).
