Alex played an okay game but he was nowhere near an All American level or even what a led dog needs to be.Ah you need to put Alex in that group

He caught it on his hip, in real time I thought it was a definite carry, different from carries they usually don’t call.
Yup. Like I said, complete misevaluation of multiple players.Hurley gambled heavily on the sophomores making a big leap instead of getting help in the portal (they had another scholarship in their pocket) and he's getting burned for it. Plus the miss on evaluating Mahaney. Then McNeeley is out a month plus. As much as everything went right last season, everything is seeming to be going against them this season so far.
Aidan Mahaney beat his man to the hoop with 16 secs, when Dan Hurley called a timeout. He can get to the hoop anytime he wants. What happens when he gets there is another issue. AM must be given the benefit of the doubt. This was the AM we need.We are awful in the last shot situation because our entire offense is running movement/sets for a jump shot. We have no one currently playing who can create their own shot.
Would love to have the victory and not waste Mahaney's breakout performance. I saw something in the way they responded to Xavier's continual punches on the road.
They didn't quit and even could have won it even with AK on the bench at the end. This is clearly a March built team especially with Liam being out. We're getting closer to our Tourney readiness.
Just saying this team is good without McNeeley, that's one good thing confirmed tonight. We're going to be just fine, I saw Championship players tonight, the Championship plays are coming soon. It's close!

And you base this on what? The “play Nowell “ contingent is awfully silent now, too.I'm telling you, between Ross and Stewart, there are minutes for Abramam. He can play and contribute.
He got abused by that one guy who literally was clowning him. Three times he had an and 1. He didn’t deserve minutes. Stew is not playing good ball.Stewart iced by Hurley once again. How many points can the guy put up from the bench? Not that he played great while he was in because he didn’t..
Ross’ lack of situational awareness is staggering. The game has yet to slow down for him.
He brings nothing period. I have no idea why the staff is blind to this. He’s one of our worst defensive players. Why is Ross out there for an offensive set? He brings nothing offensively, nothing!
Alex was not good tonight and hasn't been for the last few gamesAlex played an okay game but he was nowhere near an All American level or even what a led dog needs to be.
Oh it can be even worse, that's what worries me with Ahmad and Abraham. There's a huge opportunity there and the coach sees them as unplayable. But it literally can’t be worse. We get NOTHING out of Ross and Stewart. It’s impossible to get less than nothing.
Why Ross sees the floor at all is just mind boggling.
This just doesn’t make sense when in an ideal world, the board was dreaming of lineups of Diarra, Mahaney, Liam, Karaban, and Johnson at the beginning of the summer.Hurley gambled heavily on the sophomores making a big leap instead of getting help in the portal (they had another scholarship in their pocket) and he's getting burned for it. Plus the miss on evaluating Mahaney. Then McNeeley is out a month plus. As much as everything went right last season, everything is seeming to be going against them this season so far.
Don’t matter Ross had an open look for a pull up but continued to drive. Has to get shot up for a chance.
What are the other options? And don’t say double bigs or Abraham. He brings nothing period. I have no idea why the staff is blind to this. He’s one of our worst defensive players.
Ahmad was hurt and he never gets to play through a mistake or two. I think we need to let him go. This upcoming stretch might not be the best time, but we are running out of opportunities to get him going. We have no idea if that's the case. We were clamoring for Ahmad and he looks out of place out there.
It's a double dribble if it's on your hip too. They called a double dribble, so it had nothing to do with it catching on his hip. The call was that he hit it with his other hand, which he clearly did not.
Abraham was always going to be a development project. It’s foolish to think he’s going to make a difference this year.Ahmad was hurt and he never gets to play through a mistake or two. I think we need to let him go. This upcoming stretch might not be the best time, but we are running out of opportunities to get him going.
Abraham may have the athleticism to stay in front of someone. We seem to have a lot of athletes that just can’t guard anyone. Maybe Abraham can.
I don’t think we should just try to win with the main group we are playing now. It is unlikely to work. We need more from other players.
He’s terrible defensively and has flashes for sure. But do you think he’s played well this year? This is his first poor performance? He’s been scoreless four times in the last nine games and he has, by far, the worst +/- on the team.He was a former top 50 recruit, plus athlete, shooting 50% for his career and has shown some flashes. It’s also called not over-reacting after a god awful game by him.
The announcers were saying we were around -102 foul shots this year, -91 in ‘23, and only +47 last year. From memory, don’t quote me. That means we pretty much play 5 on 8 almost every game. While it's fresh...I see foul discrepancy remains. Anyone have the link to that X post that has all the data to back up the claims of UConn having such a foul discrepancy? I have a million Xavier fans texting me and I can't find the study.
There's no time like the present. The rest of the regular season is essentially mootAhmad was hurt and he never gets to play through a mistake or two. I think we need to let him go. This upcoming stretch might not be the best time, but we are running out of opportunities to get him going.
Watch him go off next week against Depaul and disappear against Marquette. Thats AlexAlex was not good tonight and hasn't been for the last few games
