Ahmad was hurt and he never gets to play through a mistake or two. I think we need to let him go. This upcoming stretch might not be the best time, but we are running out of opportunities to get him going.

Abraham may have the athleticism to stay in front of someone. We seem to have a lot of athletes that just can’t guard anyone. Maybe Abraham can.

I don’t think we should just try to win with the main group we are playing now. It is unlikely to work. We need more from other players.
Nowell still looks lost out there. The game is too quick for him still. Giving him too much too early can ruin his confidence. Not to mention that for the last 5 games, PG play has not been an issue.

Shoutout Mahaney, Diarra, Samson, and Solo even though he was ice cold down the stretch. They came to play today

Stewart, Ross, Nowell, and Karaban were all extreme negatives but the top 4 kept us in it

So I’ve come to terms that we’re somewhere in the 25-40 range without Liam. How much does he lift us, and how much better does everyone else get when he’s back? Only time will tell

There’s a “get right” game on Wednesday, and then the fun starts. Let’s go huskies
Fouls killed us again 4 less fouls and maybe we would pulled this lit

You are way more likely to hurt someone’s confidence by not trusting them and pulling them whenever they make a mistake over giving them responsibility and letting them play through mistakes.

You can make that call every possession. The carry is a rule that’s basically never enforced. Other than Karabans fourth I can’t think of a more ridiculous call, besides maybe the foul on Solos three.
This one specifically was not the wrong call at all. It was noticeable. Getting the ball caught on your hip doesn’t happen every possession.

Would love to have the victory and not waste Mahaney's breakout performance. I saw something in the way they responded to Xavier's continual punches on the road.

They didn't quit and even could have won it even with AK on the bench at the end. This is clearly a March built team especially with Liam being out. We're getting closer to our Tourney readiness.

Just saying this team is good without McNeeley, that's one good thing confirmed tonight. We're going to be just fine, I saw Championship players tonight, the Championship plays are coming soon. It's close!
Well said, the negativity is over the top. They played a tough team in a tough atmosphere and a team that played to save their season. Despite the terrible games by Ross and Stewart and not much from Karaban or Reed, they still almost won tha game, minus McNeeley.

The sky is not falling!

That's what was said about Ross too and he hasn't developed. The thing is college basketball is no longer really a development sport.

You can have one or two guys and you need to have backup if it doesn’t work out.

I disagree. We need more from that position. We can’t do squat with the ball off the dribble and we are horrendous with the shot clock running down. We need another guy with some ability to put it on the floor. Yes, Ahmad looks lost. I want him to get through it. Probably too much to ask, I know. We just need more from someone.

He could play through them in practice. This ain't rec sports. We're looking to win and right now, playing a Hass/Mahaney platoon gives us the best chance to win

Danny definitely not earning his big contract this season. We have a ref problem - continue to lose games on the FT line. His vendetta with them not helping. End-of-game schemes have not worked at all. We've turned into a perimeter team as we have no one that can consistently create their own shots when its crunch-time. Many more players underperforming than overperforming expectations.

At this point wait till McNeeley is 100%. No use rushing him back for what, maybe a 5th seed? At this point it's almost just make the tourney at all and have a 100% healthy McNeeley and see if we can make a run in the BET/NCAAT. If we lose him for good, we are cooked.

What are the other options? And don’t say double bigs or Abraham.
Yes, double bigs for parts of the game would be better than playing four on five offensively with Ross. It’s too late to hope that our defense gets better without making some changes. Samson is mobile enough to guard 4s and him being available to help rather than being pushed around under the basket is worth a shot.

Abraham was always going to be a development project. It’s foolish to think he’s going to make a difference this year.
Yes. I understand. However, Ross and Stew are clearly developmental as well. We need a lockdown perimeter defender. I’d give anyone a few minutes to show what they can do at this point. We’re searching for an answer.

Everybody who thinks we’ll make a run in March with Liam has to recognize we are falling into an 8-9 game currently.
I still like what we can be with a healthy Liam. Solo is like an 18 ppg guy now and Liam and AK are 15 ppg guys. His injury has nuked our season, I just hope he can get back in time before the season slips away. We can very easily lose 3 out of the upcoming 4 games.

Stewart iced by Hurley once again. How many points can the guy put up from the bench? Not that he played great while he was in because he didn’t..

Ross’ lack of situational awareness is staggering. The game has yet to slow down for him.
Having Ross on the court in that situation was sub-optimal. Far too many players placed in sub-optimal positions this season, especially minus Liam.
