I'm not sure I've ever seen a guy coach a worse game while getting a paycheck from UConn and I've seen Paul Pasqualoni in action. The final ten minutes of this game were pure malpractice - and the first thirty minutes were no prize either.

He's making $3,000,000 a year and he's not doing the work.

Someone will try to put to the upside or pitch a you're-all-bad-fans tantrum, but the team is on the wrong track these days - Ollie's team doesn't play hard and they don't play smart. That's become the hallmark over the past two years.

Elmore said he is super positive, seemingly congratulating them for mistakes.

This team needs a kick in the arse, if there ever was one but Ollie has on slippers. Hell play the walkons but send a fuking message!

If this was 5 years ago in a league with Louisville, West Virginia, and Syracuse I could understand the ups and downs.

This is in a terrible league with winnable games all over the place with only 2 other good teams (SMU, Cincinnati). We should be able to show up, play mediocre, and go 13-3. We show up, play horrendous and go 10-6 or 9-7 which simply doesn't cut it. Unreal.

Agree with the sentiment of this 100% but PP couldn't coach the Panthers to a 6-6 record in the Sun Belt

I've been harping on KO's lack of intensity on the sidelines for some time now. But you're right, Fishy... what's more troubling now is seeing consistently terrible offense. Passing on the perimeter and then a low percentage 3-pt shot. People will point to Hamilton and Purvis shooting a combined 3-23. I will say a lot of their shots were forced desperation shots at the end of the shot clock because the offense was stagnant.

Draw up something that gets Purvis attacking the rim. Draw up something that gets Miller isolated down low with multiple kick-out options.

I don't see the team playing with passion. They're playing tentative. No one has confidence. When there's so many problems with the team, KO is the one who has to be held responsible. Honestly, I think the offense has regressed as the year has gone on... that's a COACHING problem.

Game in and game out, it's very hard to argue that he's a good coach.

The team has revealed itself to be something of a Frankenstein's monster with the graduate-transfers and it doesn't seem to have meshed at all - but the need for the graduate transfers and the failure to put a cohesive team together is on him as well.

We're more than likely heading for a second NIT - when you've cashed $6,000,000 in paychecks over two season, two NITs is simply not acceptable. The staff needs a shakeup.

I can't understand why Ollie is always just sitting in his chair. Haith, for example, was standing and engaged in the game the whole time. Ollie just sits there with that befuddled look, and doesn't have nearly the same fire I remember from a couple years ago. This team is beyond frustrating to watch.

Ollie looks lost...

I wonder how much he's feeling exasperation that none of his big time players are playing the way he wants...

That isn't putting the onus OFF Ollie, but I wonder if he has no idea how to get these guys to play the way he envisioned.

No more AAC bashing until UConn can win this league.

And I will say this one more time before I head to bed upset.......Bad coaching, no chemistry and poor decision making. Why were we shooting 3's like there were no inside options? Tonight I blame everyone except the fans!

Some teams can play out of their mistakes and bad shooting. This team has too many new components, they need the Coaches help. One way to help is to diagram plays to get a good percentage shot. I'm not sure I witnessed any plays called to get a good shot or at least get to the foul line, especially when we were struggling.

4 points in over 11 minutes? Did the announcer say that in the 2nd half?

This is not a UConn team because this team has NO leader
This team has no heart, no passion, no desire
On paper they look real good but they don't play together, they don't play smart and they don't play UConn ball
Is it KO? maybe BUT these guys have played enough ball to know better
To get outscored and outplayed like they did in the final 10 minutes makes me sick
I hate to say this, watching UConn mens BB since 1965 - I dislike this team - sorry but true

Agree and that could be it, but that's where you find a way to coach them to a W right? No consistency to hi s sub patterns, his passion on the sideline, his offense (what offense?) this isn't the same guy.

Can't just recruit. So much more to coaching. Just doesn't get it.

People keep blaming our players for the poor performances. It's the coach's job to put his players in a position to succeed. Having our guards pass the ball around the perimeter for the whole possession then force up a low-percentage 3-pt shot is NOT good offense. It's becoming a pattern. In my mind, that's not on the players, that's on KO.

I think you hit on it.

Similar to the points I made in a thread, there's no high IQ plays, no intensity, no passion, no hustle, it's all just...blah.

Again I ask, is that the players? Ollie def has a HUGE hand in that regardless, but it's possible some of these guys are just these types of players...and he's trying things and nothing changes that. I really don't know, all I know is it's frustrating watching the same crap offense and general lethargy on defense every game. The team has no flow, confidence, aggressiveness on ANY aspect of the game.

This is an Ollie problem. A fixable Ollie problem. He's a smart guy and has the ability to be great, but he's showing NO passion and energy. This absolutely is starting from him and being passed on to the players. KO needs to man up and figure out what his problem is here. The player's aren't ready for adverse situations and aren't prepared properly for games.

What big time players.
Purvis is a set shooter basically. Can drive but short arms

Omar set shooter

Gibbs 3 pt specialist until he came here.

Miller decent but nit enough and not big time.

Dham not athletic, volume shooter who lost still takes lots of shots but misses lots of shots.

JA not great freshman. Should be good but. . . Not now!

Other bigs suck or not ready yet (Enoch)

And I have to read, my choice, all these AAU video tape watchers saying how great next year will be.
