Mexico dominated the games today, should have scored like 5 goals.

I love Poland, but they had no business advancing today. They were awful.
Argentina is looking better and better and Szczesny had a monster game for Polland, has blocked 2 amazing PK's

Anyone watch the France match today?
Did they play their scrubs? I was amazed when I saw the score
Great for the Aussies

Poland is a fun team to watch but much like the USA there is very little offense with the exception of one player

Yes. 9 new starters. Rested people. Smart. Still look like possibly the best team to me.

Scrubs is a relative term. Most of their "scrubs" would walk into our team. ;)

Morocco is putting it to Canada. As I commented before, Canada is one of the more reckless attacking sides I've ever seen. About as different from the old Italian sides that defended like mad and countered as I can imagine. Simply can't get away with it at this level.

Watching Croatia/Belgium. De Bruyne starting to do De Bruyne things. But Lukaku....OMG. Missed 2 sure goals. (ok one wouldn't have counted because it was out before the cross)

The one cross was clearly out of bounds but he had 2 amazing chances. Good on him for getting out there not having played any games this year but man, those were golden OPPS...

I enjoy watching the World Cup but I am not as educated as others regarding World Cup. I have read that the 2026 World Cup will have three teams in each group and no ties will be allowed since the field will be expanded to 48 teams. How do you see this change affecting play?

Biggest change with 3 teams is there's going to be an unbalanced first game for some teams. The second game for the group will end up being 1 team coming in fresh against another team who just played their first group game. The flip side is the team playing game 2 also knows exactly what result they'll need based on how the first game went for them

Ok the last 20 mins of these games are going to be nuts. All 4 teams hopes in the balance

Costa Rica enjoyed approximately two minutes of thinking they would advance...and then the wheels fell off.

Pretty bad showing for CONCACAF.

Mexico couldn't find the extra goal they needed. Costa Rica was behind the 8-ball after basically losing the GD tiebreaker in the first match. Canada, yikes.

Really don’t care about COCCACAF’s showing. It is the World Cup. Mexico’s issues are their’s own to deal with. US in the top 16 is great. Top 8 would be better. This isn’t like college hoops or football where you care one bit about your “conference”

Agreed. It's not like having better teams in our federation helps the USA at all. If anything when it comes to world soccer I would rather the USA stay strong and the rest of our federation stink that way we do not miss anymore world cups in the future. They can always play better competition in friendlies if the worry is not getting challenged enough.
