The WNBA champions for a lot of years have been teams that played the games without a lot of pushing and shoving. Those teams were enjoyable to watch, which is why ratings have gone up.
Miller and Laimbeer have both adopted a clutch and shove type game. The Bad Boys set the NBA back a lot of years, and the same thing might well happen in the WNBA.

Lamebeer didn't "adopt" anything. That's his comfort zone. If you can't win with talent, foul - they won't call all of them.
 
Good game shaping up between Sky and Sun. 37-35 Sky at half. Bonner the big weapon. Physical on both sides. Finally a few 3 pt shots falling on both sides. Should open the post a little.

Interesting stat. Azure with 7 O Boards at half. Probably most of her own misses or shots blocked first but skinny posts can find their way in the WNBA

Azura has had a really good series vs CT
 
High quality 3rd Q. Sun up 63-60. Quigley finally getting hot but Bonner marching everything.

She has...until today. The rebounding aside, she missed her first 4 shots, all from point blank range. She's 4-16 now. That's pretty brutal.

edit--I see she's +12 in the +/-...often have to take those w/ a large grain of salt.

Jonquel was great thru 3 quarters of Game 1. Ever since she's been fairly subpar. She certainly earned the MVP during the season, but the playoff version of her is definitely not looking remotely like the best player in the league.
 
Sun just sloppy and not getting back in 4th Q Track meet and the Sun forgot their sneakers. Sky want it alot more
 
Does Alyssa just wait til the 2nd half and then decide "I think I'll start playing now."
 
Jonquel not only not the best player in the league in the playoffs, she's like 3rd (or maybe 4th) best frontcourt player on her own team. Bizarre.
 
What the HECK. January totally made hash of it but Vandersloot only makes 1 of 2 on FT

and Jazmin misses a tying chippee. Lordy

Sun have only managed to get a low scoring, grind it out game one of the three games so far.
 
James Wade listened to me. No Dana Evans today. Sloot played 37 minutes, Brown 3 minutes of relief.
 
Sky did everything they could do to lose the game and the Sun not able to take it.

JJ is obviously a great player but come playoff time the MVP needs to play like one.
 
Cambage back in the starting lineup today. No difference, Instantly 8-0 (2 3's by D). Aces starters refuse to answer the bell at the beginning of all 3 games.
 
11-0 2 minutes in. Laimbeer has to go to the bench immediately. Gotta be the earliest Plum and Hamby have entered a game all season.

Hard to believe Williams gets an assist for that. Nearly dribbled the clock out, then gives it to a big way beyond the 3 point arc w/ about a second left. Better lucky than good sometimes.
 
Turner and Hamby have been the best bigs on the floor, by a wide margin. Griner/Wilson/Cambage not doing much so far.
 
17 pts/8 reb for Turner...at the half. Raise your hand if you saw that coming.

edit--and their second leading scorer is Cunningham w/ 8 off the bench

Diggins-Smith has begged for a foul call on just about every possession this game. Give it a rest already.
 
What?! Phoenix has a 37-16 advantage in rebounding. That tells me Las Vegas isn't even trying.
 
Aces desperately attempting to get Wilson going, it ain't working. 2-10 shooting. Meanwhile Griner has scored 10 this quarter.
 
#5 vs. #6 in the Finals? It's about to happen.

Williams and Plum not scoring like in the first 2 games, and nobody picking up the slack. Aces absolutely suck today.
 
Fun sport watching the Aces getting T'd up all over the place. :p
