Phoenix in the bonus 2:15 into Q3. Come on now refs.

Riquna missed a pair of 3s that could've cut it to 9. Taurasi hit a 3 on the other end, then just got fouled on a 3. Merc have cooled way off, but too much of an uphill battle. Plus they are getting a bunch of FTs.

The game has turned into a rather dull FT shooting contest. Good job refs.

Vegas not only hasn't chipped away at the lead, they're trailing by even more now.

I think Vegas has 12 FTA this quarter and Phoenix has 14.

edit--commentator just said 18 combined fouls on the 2 teams THIS QUARTER. Refs doing ref things.

Truly amazing how the team you root for gets massively screwed over by the refs in every single game. It's a bona fide conspiracy.

98-78...thru Q3. I thought the Merc kinda slowed down, but they had another 30 point quarter. All 3 so far. I guess that's what 13-14 FTs in a quarter can do for you.

Reading comprehension. Not suggesting it's one sided. The refs have taken over the game, both teams have had a parade of trips to the charity stripe. Try harder next time.

3 point shooting--Phoenix 12-19 LV 3-10. That's the ball game.

edit make it 13-20 vs. 3-12.

Well they're shooting 64% not counting FT's so that's not bad. BTW Phoenix had 2 more fouls than Vegas at the start of the 4th.

Taurasi w/ a career playoff high 34. 9-12 shooting 7-10 3's. Kinda hard to believe she saved her best for this late in her career.

Make that 8-11 and 37

Again, I was talking about the shear volume of whistles, not which team was getting called for them. 18 fouls in a quarter is a very large number. Surely no one can disagree with that.

edit--that's nearly 2 fouls called per minute, think about that just a bit

Park and Slocum in, is Bill waiving the white flag?

It's certainly looking like time for Diana to hang em up. She seems to get injured 4x per game, and it's not even the same injury. She is my all time favorite player, but she really is a shell of what she used to be. Nothing to add defensively, and shoots a high volume of threes at a relatively low percentage. The more I watch and think about her injury history the last few years, I think the jersey exchange was more to honor their last matchup before Diana retires.

You might have to re-evaluate this. 37 Points and 8-11 from 3. Not bad for an old lady playing on one good leg.

There's been an Alanna Smith sighting! She hasn't played in forever.

Never thought I would see Diana have a game like this. Just Nirvana.:cool::cool::cool:

Hartley has been out there for a while. Walker the last player to enter the game.

117-91 final. That's a lot of points.

Taurasi 37, Griner 25, SDS 17.

Plum 25, Williams 17.

Hamby has lost her mojo it seems. Not having a good series. 6 combined pts in 2 games.

3's ended up 14-26 vs. 4-16. Huge difference. Big difference in FT shooting accuracy as well--Phoenix 23-24 LV 15-22.

Next games aren't til Sunday, 1 extra day of rest. Who benefits the most? Well extra half day I guess, early afternoon games.

Have you noticed how physical the game has been? The refs need to call some fouls, although some of them seem to be phantom.

An instance where I’m very happy to have been proven wrong. Glad to see she still has a few tricks left up her sleeve.

Wow what a beatdown by Phoenix. Taurasi had a ridiculously efficient scoring night--37 points on 13 shots. Griner also looked like she was playing in peak form, great touch and looked focus the entire time she was out there. I wouldn't be surprised if the finals winds up being Chicago vs. Phoenix. Both teams have players that seem to know their role extremely well and they have the firepower to knock off Vegas/Chicago. Vegas specifically seems to lack a true identity since they have so many different players who can take over but it's somewhat of a guessing game to see who actually will set up to the plate. You'd think it'd be A'ja Wilson but she's been relatively quiet through 2 games. Plum has been the player to step up in G1 and G2 but she's was a major liability on defense last night. Liz, Gray, and Hamby also run so hot and cold. If DT/Griner continue to play at a high level I think Phoenix pulls this out.

Would like to see that Connecticut, and Las Vegas remind me too much of the Bad boy Pistons that set the NBA back years.
The WNBA champions for a lot of years have been teams that played the games without a lot of pushing and shoving. Those teams were enjoyable to watch, which is why ratings have gone up.
Miller and Laimbeer have both adopted a clutch and shove type game. The Bad Boys set the NBA back a lot of years, and the same thing might well happen in the WNBA.

The best team more often than not will win a series, while I am not saying the underdogs can't win, the top teams are still my favorites to make the Finals.

I think Phoenix have the better chance of the two and Griner, not Taurasi, will be the key. When the Aces doubled her she made great decisions. So if she continues that level of play what else can the Aces do?

Will they try to get her into foul trouble by taking the ball inside early in the game? Maybe some hard fouls or a little trash talk to get her out of her comfort zone?

As good as Diana looked I was just as impressed with Griner. She looked very confident and relaxed.

She definitely got scored on a lot last night...but so did everybody else from LV. It was a team wide complete and utter failure on defense. Plus it was just one of those games, everything that any player from Phoenix hoisted up went in.
