WNBA Playoffs Thread

Do not see how the Storm come back and nothing CT or the Sky has shown puts them in the Aces class. They play so free. Becky's fingerprints all over their team including great play calling.
Lol, more ridiculous commentary. Keep watching though, maybe you will learn something.

Genuinely asking, what is the problem with this post?

Aces may or may not win it all but I’d agree that they look like the premiere team at this point in the postseason. Becky has, by all accounts, done a great job opening up the offense to flow freely and score in bunches.

how much is going to be left tho for Vegas if they have to play 5 games vs Seattle? Meanwhile to me the Sky look fresh and relaxed and to me have not even played their basketball.

Well, that might be me, but I've given her props for 2 monster games in a row. She was very critical of herself following the '21 playoffs, and now she's stepping up.

I thought I've seen comments from a few, not you specifically. I've seen it as players have their ups and downs at different points.

Considering her track record, it felt too soon for people to count her out. Maybe she hasn't dominated as much as people expect, but she didn't all out disappear from my perspective.

Just a friendly tip, folks around here don't take kindly to people peeing in other people's cheerios. If you want to put some meat on the bone of your disagreement, we're all ears. But big adjectives and backhanded insults won't get you very far in these parts.

I thought it was incredible basketball. Did A’ja travel? Maybe, but it’s not what cost Seattle the game. Had they made the free throws down the stretch it wouldn’t have mattered. The Aces curb stomped the Storm in the OT. I’m an Aces fan because of A’ja but that whole team just plays so together. They are fun to watch. Cant wait to watch the rest of the playoffs.

To say that Chicago and Connecticut are not in the same class as Vegas is Ridiculous. Defense wins Championships!! Vegas lacks depth and could easily be down in their own series. Any of the 4 remaining teams could win it all in my opinion. I like Chicago's chances personally. Stevens/Allemand/Gardener off the bench is a problem.

Seattle has a problem, Getting Tina was not a good plan. Disrupted their defense, and Tina at this stage of her career doesn't bring enough on offense, to make up for her defense, which isn't good.

There’s no maybe - she took four steps.

I hate when refs miss big calls that impact the end of games, but the Storm had three chances to put that game away and failed every time. That’s a haunting loss that teams typically struggle to come back from in a series.

Playoffs resume tonight. Would love to see each series extended to 5 games. My predictions are Chicago closes out CT. The sun just don’t look the same, and a big part of that to me is surrounding the play of Jonquel Jones and how CT uses her. And I predict the Storm bounce back and protect home court. I expect them to come out with a purpose, as this could be the last game of Bird’s career. They desperately need Loyd to play 40 full minutes of high level basketball.

Ultimately I think it will be a showdown of Vegas and Chicago in the finals. Really a toss up. Of the two I’d prefer to see Vegas get their first championship.

I'm still not clear on Coach Miller's explanation as to why she sat so long. Will be interesting to see what happens tonight.

CT out to 20-6 lead. Lets not blow it.

Can see Chicago and Connecticut going to five games.
Will give Las Vegas extra rest, Gabby and Tina should have sat in O/T, and gone With Ezi and Talbot.
Tina played halfway decent 1st game with 18 rebounds, but isn't good enough on offense or defense at this stage of her life to be playing excess minutes.
Gabby should play better this game, Ezi should start and get major minutes.
Tina would be better in less minutes, but giving all out effort coming off the bench, with Talbot.
If Quinn isn't gone after the season ends, Stewie, Ezi, and Talbot need to move on.

When did the Sun turn into an offensive juggernaut? Chicago is so perplexing. Just can't stay focused for very long. They were much better in the regular season this year compared to last, but '21 playoffs version of the Sky was hands down better than '22 version.

Wilson just had probably the worst pass in WNBA history.

Crazy 3pt shot make by Jewell to end an 8-0 Aces run at 1st Q buzzer. Maybe some one will actually help Stewie out after all.

Seattle seems determined to take away Gray, she only has 1 shot attempt. But its allowing Plum to just waltz to the rim, she had 10 in Q1.

Made their layups tonight. Just bull rushed them the entire game.

Tina missed another 2FT's. Totally unexpected that she would get the yips.

Hamby is back...but she definitely doesn't look ready. Totally rusty, bringing them nothing.

I don't understand why Hammon has abandoned Plaisance. Most of the season she was their best reserve. Now she doesn't play AT ALL.

In a series that has seen some great individual performances, Stewie is taking it to another level. She almost has 30 at halftime, can't hardly miss.

Okay Gray, what's w/ forcing a shot when you have 3 defenders on you? That means 2 of your teammates were wide open.
