I've been accused of being an Aja homer. I admit I'm a fan and think she's one of the best players in the world but I wonder how much of her lag in stats has to do with Stokes also being in as opposed to Hamby.

Aja has generally needed room to operate to be most effective. When Coates went out when she was at SC it propelled them to the NC because she had more room to move around. It's no secret her stats and effectiveness went down with Cambage. Stokes lacks the versatility of Hamby so maybe some of this is her lack of room to position and maneuver, in addition to a good defensive plan by Seattle.

For all the criticism thrown at Quinn, Seattle looks to be in a pretty good spot right now. Bird continues to dial back the clock with her play.

Hamby stats and effectiveness went down as starting besides Wilson as the season went on and that's why Stokes replaced her as a starter. I didn't realize it until someone pointed it out on another board that this Hamby's 3rd straight season being unavailable for Aces for a portion or all of the playoffs because of an injury.

Agreed, but having her for the depth and the challenges she poses when she plays helps. There are things she does that Stokes doesn't that Las Vegas is missing right now.

I wasn't sure having Hamby start made sense, but she deserved the opportunity based on her play. After seeing how it played out during the season, I prefer Hamby coming off the bench. Seems to be a better fit.

Hamby off the bench would be a big help for Vegas. I have no issue with Stokes as a player at all but she can do a couple of things well and that's about it.

Unfounded criticism of Quinn. Just people who don't like what they see. They even complained about the Assistants.

Gabby has made the trip to Vegas, but she appears to be still out for Wednesday game.

.-.
But practicing. I think she will get minutes in game 3. Especially if the Aces win game 2

That was the real Chicago. I don't know who was playing in Game 1. Parker is playing great. This was probably Meesseman's best game in the playoffs so far. She has not at all looked like the player who was the MVP when the Mystics won a Championship.

this is why Chicago plays possum, u can clearly see the team when motivated or urgently they just dominate. They know they can get away with it vs teams like NY and Connecticut just due to the talent disparity, but vs Seattle/Vegas they should be aware that won't go.

I missed game 1 between the Storm and Vegas. Did Becky try this small lineup in the first game?

I don't think so, but it's absolute desperation because Stokes has been a complete liability in this series. Without Hamby, Vegas is gonna get swept.

With Vegas’ smaller lineup, Stewie is not taking advantage of the guard on her, enough for me

Even w/out the 4 guard lineup, Vegas switches picks constantly. You see Plum on Stewie or Charles frequently, Seattle doesn't take advantage of it enough.

Night and day difference for Wilson this game. Great back and forth battle between her and Stewie. Gray keeps doing her thing, she's been incredibly dialed in for weeks now.

Jewel only has 4 points. She’s been terrible in the playoffs
Big in Game 2 against Washington and HUGE in Game 1 against Vegas. I think you're overstating.

With Washington she was cold until the fourth quarter. She’s not the player I’ve expected each day

Another not great shooting game for Plum, but she's tenacious. 2 big buckets back to back.

What happens to Jackie Young in the playoffs? Every year, she just falls off a cliff in the post season.

I've always felt like Sue Bird could average 15-20 per game if she was aggressive looking for her shot. Whenever she looks for her shot she seems to score pretty effortlessly.

That's how I feel watching Sloot. Both have modest career scoring averages, but certainly can score when they want to or need to.

Well, another bold prediction I got wrong. At least 2 more games in this series.

Stokes was playing well at the end of the season, and in Round 1. But she is struggling mightily against Seattle. They aren't even bothering to defend her and she's doing nothing to punish them for it.

.-.
In the playoffs, Gray is shooting 66.7% overall and 65% from 3. The law of averages has to kick in at some point doesn't it? She's out of her mind.

Conn is no different from Seattle or Vegas. They are even deeper than both those teams in comparison. Chicago is Elite at every position.
