When Dangerfield starts and is subbed for, it's usually Ionescu moving over to handle PG duties and Johannes and/or Whitcomb coming in. When Johannes is in for Dangerfield, whether as a starter or sub, she plays a bunch of minutes. She can drive and shoot three's, whereas Whitcomb is pretty much an outside threat. However, she's also an Opal, which Brondello also coaches. And Sami is a key cog on the Aussie squad.
In the latter part of the seasons, Dangerfield seemed to be used on a match-up basis by Brondello. Her speed and quickness can be matched against certain players. On the flip-side, her lack of height can be targeted, as well. Will be interesting to see what the Liberty brain-trust decides what to do. in the guard situation, as well.
You're right: some of the (NY Liberty) wings need to be culled. Can they get a needed player for them?
