I'm surprised at how few votes James Wade got. Chicago tied with the same record as Aces (26-10) after going 16-16 a year ago. Hammon gets 27 votes, Wright with 18, Wade with only 8.
Oh wow. That's a huge gap between him and Hammon. I think Wright deserved the votes she got based on how Atlanta performed this season.

Agree all 3 deserved votes, I just find it surprising how Wade was considered a distant 3rd where I see him being neck and neck with Hammon.

I would ditch Whitcomb and Dangerfield also, but keep Onyenwere (she's young, versatile, and athletic).
When Dangerfield starts and is subbed for, it's usually Ionescu moving over to handle PG duties and Johannes and/or Whitcomb coming in. When Johannes is in for Dangerfield, whether as a starter or sub, she plays a bunch of minutes. She can drive and shoot three's, whereas Whitcomb is pretty much an outside threat. However, she's also an Opal, which Brondello also coaches. And Sami is a key cog on the Aussie squad.

In the latter part of the seasons, Dangerfield seemed to be used on a match-up basis by Brondello. Her speed and quickness can be matched against certain players. On the flip-side, her lack of height can be targeted, as well. Will be interesting to see what the Liberty brain-trust decided to do in the guard situation, as well.

You're right: some of the (NY Liberty) wings need to be culled. Can the Liberty package a trade to get a needed player for them?

For such a small league, there have been some nice underdog success stories over the last few years. Laney comes to mind and now Gardner as well. I think there are a few others but can’t recall names.
Whitcomb. I think before Gardner she was the oldest rookie in league history.

Defense wins . Dangerfield and Whitcomb lack in that area for obvious reasons. NY has a number of scorers and shooters already. Expansive group of free agents available and NY is a desirable market. As with everything, it's about choices.

I don't know about this year, but Sami has been an above average defender for most of her WNBA career. And she's not nearly as lacking in height as Dangerfield, if that's what you're referring to. Listed as 1 inch shorter than Ionescu.

Dangerfield lacks in height and Whitcomb in her mid 30's now and to slow defending players at their positions (the obvious reasons).

anyone else think this Wnba long drought is a bad idea? Feels like some of the momentum has been killed, hopefully doesn't translate in games, but idk why Vegas had to wait 9 days to play.

I was hoping Gabby would have been able to play in this first game. Hoping that she will be cleared for the second game. Both series will be interesting to watch but I am really looking forward to this series. So many interesting matchups, even with the substitution patterns.

High quality 1st half. Seattle up 43-36. Nice battle between Stewie and Gray with contested makes before half. Special mention to Tina with 12 Rebounds at the half. 5 Off and Sue with 6 Assists and 0 TO's. Half time show burpingly tilted to Aces.

This Seattle/Las Vegas series is shaping up to be a battle. To be honest, I was not expecting Seattle to be this sharp, especially after that long layoff. I was expecting Vegas to be on the attack from the jump. Going to be a nice series.

u do realize Vegas had more days off right?

Sue has 2 pts but 7 asts. ....great performance
Storm 49 - 43, mid of 3Q.

Hmm. Can Tina go 20 / 20? 11pts / 16 Rebounds 6 minutes left in 3Q

Maybe but the rebounds are a lot less impressive when a big chunk of them are misses of her own layups. Seattle definitely missing Gabby.

I seemed to have jinxed it anyway. Aces take the lead
