If we don't work our way into a hosting situation I hope we go to Tempe for the regionals. Would love to have a few nights going out in that city just like the good ole days!!

Great pitching performances from Cross and Nepiarsky. Always get greedy once we win first game. Would love a sweep but splitting next 2 games would be satisfactory.

Big win today. If we sweep and and Houston takes 2 of 3 from USF, there would be a 3 way tie for first. USF, Houston and UConn would have 9 - 6 records. Just something to root for.

First time all year we are 13 games over .500, and our current RPI is 29 which I believe is the lowest it has been all year.

current record.. season goal

7 - 6 / .538 % .... 16 - 8 / .667 % - AAC regular season

I was thinking it would be great if we could sweep this series. Getting a little ahead of ourselves after just one game but glad to think I am not the only one who feels a little greedy this weekend

Got to win the first one to sweep. At least we have a chance, Memphis can't say that. Go Huskies!!

Wow our conference is competitive. No easy games. Not only that, but there won't be a big advantage to having a higher seed in the conference tournament. There are no byes and even #8 will not be a slouch.

Your correct about the conference strength. This really helps the RPI if we continue to win. You can make a case that 7 of 8 teams still have a shot at a NCAA bid, just depends on how they finish.

What a difference 24 hours make. After our game 1 win , I was hoping for a sweep and a possibility of being tied for first in conference. After today's loss , I am hoping we don't lose tomorrow which would bring our conference record to below .500. This is actually a very competitive conference, so I guess anything can happen.

Tough loss today. Pitching was good enough , but bats did not come through. Tomorrow is a big game for us. Would keep us over .500 in conference, and also be in top half of conference. Not much difference between first place and seventh place teams, so every conference game is extremely important

Very tough extra inning loss this afternoon. Got greedy looking for a sweep after Friday's game 1 victory. Must win vs Holy Cross mid week and then on the road ( where we are great) vs ECU this weekend.

Tough losing 2 of 3 to Memphis when we won the first game. Still in good shape with RPI, but need to win some conference games. First time all year we are under .500 in league play. Need a minimum of 2 wins vs ECU this weekend. Since we are playing on road, I am confident we will get job done. We seem to be road warriors.

Probably need to go 8-2 in the remaining season to give ourselves a shot at an at large bid (with a couple of wins in the AAC Tournament). Going to be a tall order but it's not out of the realm of possibility with this pitching staff.

Out of the latest D1 baseball field of 64 projections. ECU is a three seed. The loss to Holy Cross was brutal but getting two out of three this weekend would be huge and put us back on track to being close to the bubble or maybe in the field I would think. HAVE to sweep Cincy.

Yup... 2 out of 3 against ECU and Houston plus a sweep of Cincy. Obviously need to beat URI as well. Win 2+ games in the conference tournament. That's how they get in as an at large.

I think they could get by without taking 2 of 3 from Houston, depending on who they beat in the conference tourney.

One of "First Four out" on May 1 release: http://www.baseballamerica.com/college/projected-field-64-may-1/

(ECU one of "Last 4 In")

Last Four In: East Carolina, UC Irvine, Nebraska, Virginia
First Four Out: Tulane, Liberty, Connecticut, Long Beach State

Bids By Conference
9: SEC
7: ACC
6: Big Ten
5: Pac-12
4: American
3: Big West
2: Big 12, Big South, Colonial, C-USA, Missouri Valley
1: A-10, A-Sun, America East, Big East, Horizon, Ivy, MAAC, MAC, MEAC, Mountain West, NEC, OVC, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Summit, Sun Belt, SWAC, WAC, WCC

New at-larges this week: Cal State Fullerton, East Carolina, Kentucky, Michigan State
Dropped out from last week: Central Florida, Connecticut, Oklahoma, Texas Tech

The SEC getting way too much love based on history. The league is clearly down this year from previous years yet still have 9 projected teams.

I am honestly surprised to see them in the First Four Out at this point. I would imagine that taking 2 out of 3 this weekend might be enough to make them swap spots with ECU.
