After tonight's game, Louisville will be #1 on my BY Top 25 ballot next week. Incredible performance. Scary, too!

DePaul does not look like a Top 25 team. They are not like the team's that Doug has put on the floor over the past years.

They weren't in my BY top 25

NC St. should go to #1 after beating Preseason and Season #1 Ranked team.

My guess is if anyone in the Top 5 played another Top 10 team this early in the season it would look like a competitive ball game as it should be. That's why they are ranked the way they are. South Carolina is a good team with arguably the best Big in the college game. SC had Games against two ranked opponents before their lost to NC. St. I'm not sure what the measuring stick looks like but SC should be a good indicator of what a number one ranked team should look like.

If I had to choose right now it would be Louisville. The way they beat down DePaul was a work of art, Louisville is going to win the ACC and I can't wait to see them walk all over ND.

There is no clear #1. It is a collection of teams with flaws. Until each team in that collection plays another halfway decent team, no way to know the extent of their flaw(s). More than any other season in recent years, the pathway to #1 seeds is wide open. And with one central site being highly likely, the regional bias in seeding becomes unimportant. Might actually see multiple “competitive” 3rd and 4th round games for a change [assuming 64 team field].

Some of these teams will be in for a rude awakening when it comes time to play conference games. UConn hasn’t played a game yet and they will still have a tougher non-conference than most teams I’ve seen so far. Yes some teams look very good beating up lesser competition but when it’s time to face the real test their true colors will show. Happens every year. SC has play two ranked teams so far (SD will be ranked sooner or later) and will face a third Sunday. That will bode well for them in March and April.

Stanford or UConn? It’s hard because Stanford can’t play any home games and UConn hasn’t played yet

Oregon not Stanford is the best team in the Pac 12 and should be ranked near or at the top of the polls

I ranked Louisville #2 in my preseason BY Top 25 so pretty easy to elevate them to #1. Since my #3-6 have only played cupcakes, been limited by cancellations, or have yet to play at all, I’ll lift NC State from #7 to #2. South Carolina will be my #3 if they righted some things and defeat Iowa State tomorrow.

Who has anyone played at this point? Oregon easily beat all three of its opponents (Seattle, Portland and Colorado) while spreading the minutes among all 13 players. Subjective but they just appear to be on a higher level. Could they beat last years Oregon team? Very possibly even with that team’s big three. This year’s team has far more depth and is stronger inside.

We’ll see how they match up with Stanford. However Oregon has 2 advantages that may make a difference. They are bigger inside and shoot the 3 ball better. By the time the teams play, Oregon’s rotations and rolls should be better set.

Think Brink has a lot of potential and like her height but not very athletic and can play passive. She also is pretty thin and needs to build upper body strength. Saw her in high school in Portland.

I think Stanford has more depth than Oregon though! Haley is balling right now. Can’t wait to see Stanford vs Oregon though

South Carolina is a good team with arguably the best Big in the college game.

She hasn't played remotely close to that level yet this season. So far averaging 10.5 ppg, 8.5 rpg shooting .425 from the floor, .250 from 3, and .583 from the line. And less than 1 blocked shot per game, tied for third on her team, and teammate has twice as many blocks. She's living off her reputation, but many, many bigs have been better than her so far this year.

Short memory? No, I don't think they would beat last year's Oregon team. Stronger inside, have you forgotten about Hebard already? This smells of a bit of hyperbole to me. Let's maybe wait til this year's Oregon team beats someone halfway decent at least. Maybe see if they can smack Stanford around 3 times like they did last year. They look like they reloaded rather than rebuilt, but the previous 3 seasons were the best in Oregon history by lightyears. Kinda hard for me to believe a relatively inexperienced group has already eclipsed them.

Well as far as rankings go UConn and Stanford have not lost so I pick them 1 and 2. LVille beat Depaul who is ranked 20 something. Yeah they beat them pretty good but this season is not like other seasons. The season usually starts in November with a couple of easy games to get your team ready then a couple of more not so easy games and maybe a tuff opponent or two. So some teams arent prepared for this season yet. With that said LVille may not be as good as they looked and Depaul may not be as bad as they looked. I look at the what teams have the pieces and where their weaknesses are. SC misses leadership and a point guard. Could a point guard with leadership show up? We will see. Jeff is a very good coach and seems to have the pieces and over the next month we will see how they play. The ole saying your only as good as your last game means alot this season. UConn Stanford LVille imo right now are the top teams. They have good guard play and height that can play. All 3 have great coaching. Understand this is a different season. Many teams are not up to speed yet. The teams with the talent will rise to the top. UConn has way to much talent. UConns non starters are top 10 team. No other team can say that. So I will say UConn is number 1 until proven otherwise.

I think they need the transfer forward sitting the bench to get a waiver in order for them to be successful. Otherwise they just lack size to compete.

So, what's your view of Louisville's struggles at home against UT Martin? While they are better than UNLV, this game should not be this close. To me, without a doubt, I have Stanford as #1. If Louisville can turn it around, I would consider them #2 but not yet.

Psssh... Who is number one? Why Connecticut, of course. We are not only undefeated but we are also unscored upon.

"I think Stanford has more depth than Oregon though"... this is ?????
Oregon appears to be the deepest team I've ever seen take the hardwood...
a 12 premium player rotation? (difficult to sort out)
Now I would be willing to agree with the statement if it was "...Stanford has more EXPERIENCED depth than Oregon though..." or "Stanford is as deep as Oregon"

Stanford will defend. Oregon will try to defend. That difference is the key. Also, Sedona Prince will have a meltdown at some point and it will impact the team.
