Tesla Model S

I have mixed feelings. I love the technology and the concept but the fit and finish is definitely an issue. It squeaks and rattles and sits low so potholes are an issue. Also, it is not a cold weather car if it gets to teens or below. I would say that my feeling about the car is waning the longer I own it but my wife absolutely loves it and the fact that we don't stop for gas anymore so probably locked in for good you know happy wife...

I have a friend who has a Tesla and his sounds like a tin can with all the rattles, I admit the technology is really neat but for that cash.....

I am on my 3rd Subaru Legacy
My first is still being driven with 397K miles
My second had 280K miles when it was stolen and never recovered
My current is a 2011 with 160K miles and runs like a top and I get through snow others wouldn't attempt

You can have the BMWs etc. My neighbor always had a Benz or a BMW but tried the Legacy 3 years ago as a backup car on a lease and now the BMW is gone and it's the Legacy and a Crossover in his garage

It sure is easy to tell the age of this group by the cars listed and the bias towards gas mileage. You boys need to get with the program and get some Detroit V-8 iron before they're all committed to museums and salvage yards. Who needs 62 mpg when we have all the oil we'll need for 200 years?

2012 Mazda 3 Grand Touring. Gas mileage is far superior to either vehicle above.

2017 Toyota Tacoma. The model has had incredible reliability over the years (we will see how 2017 holds up) and I believe holds its value better than any car on the market--I paid only 5k or so more for a 2017 as opposed to a 2011 on the lot. Its 4x4, manual transmission. Absolutely no bells and whistles but fun truck.
Don't you go dippin' in that collection basket to pay for that!!

BMW 4series convertible - love it
BMW 3 series - great car but not as fun as the 4.
Mazda CX-9 with 151,000 miles and very little spent on it. It's been great except when the power assist stopped assisting going down highway 1 in California. Wife was very scared in the Big Sur area. Couldn't get it fixed until I was back in NJ.
Chrysler PT Cruiser convertible which I will sell as soon as my son learns to drive a manual.

2016 Vespa 125 LX

Less than 1,000 miles on it.

Better than those above me because I can weave through Bangkok traffic. My 20 minute commute would probably be 2 hours in a car.

That said, for weekend trips we're having a car imported from Japan - a 2012 Toyota Vanguard. Should arrive in about 2-3 months.

I'm pretty environmentally conscience which sometimes makes it difficult to rationalize my love of cars. I will always own a V8 for the sound alone. Even if I don't drive it a lot there's nothing like a V8 with a big lope

This isn't my car but it has the same mods and sounds almost identical

I'll weigh in with probably the most random/ridiculous/no one else has one/fun car. I drive a 2015 orange BMW Z4 convertible. Stupid small inside - true 2 seater, can't fit people over 6' tall. Not the best handling two seater, but still super fun. Insane twin turbo 6 cylinder that has oodles of torque and acceleration from 60 to 90 is stunning. Fun hard top convertible that turns heads. Orange - not much more to be said there. Extended orange interior - when I picked the car up after ordering it special, the car was surrounded by BMW car sales people from a high volume dealer because they had never seen one after several years in production.

This is a google image, but the same as mine:

Ended up with a 2016 Mazda CX-5 Grand touring. It’s a Swiss Army knife car. Decent at everything, great at nothing. Couldn’t decide between CPO 4Runner or Lexus GX350, got a Mazda. It will likely go to my daughter next year when she gets her permit. Should last her through HS and college.

I’m waiting for the details on the new Ford Bronco. Should be what I need. If it’s not what I want, probably a used Lexus GX460. I do like 6-7k a year. Screw gas mileage. I want a car for the zombie apocalypse.

the bronco is probably going to suck which is unfortunate because it could be really cool
