Was or is Sam hurt? She certainly was underwhelming this game with 3 rebounds and a block in 13:35.

No. She and Brink seemed to be the last 2 off the bench.

Well, it's still early, but it is kind of telling, isn't it?

Fran Belibi seemed to be in that group, too (minute-wise), although she made the most of them point- and rebounding-wise. Looks like Coach B. was very much going with a small(er) lineup, with Ms. Boston, Haley Jones and the multi-faceted Ms. Horston.

Thanks for calling to our attention.

Didn't see the game, but those are some nifty lines for Boston, Bueckers, and Brink. And even when their shots aren't falling Horston and Jones make plays.

I want her on our team!!!!
She stinks! She should have dunked with her feet.

(Has this playa signed her LOI yet?)

If she and Amihere come to Storrs UConn will have 3 who can play above the rim.

Verbal to Stanford. Geno was curious but may have thought that Fran is too raw. I expect she'll dunk at the Farm. Most athletic player there since Chiney. Or ever?

Her three other finalists, as I understand it, were Harvard, Princeton and Notre Dame. As much I as admire my alma mater, we were off the podium on the U.S. News and World Report rankings, which does not happen too often .

Nonetheless, Ms. Belibi did take an official visit to ND in April.

Think she's made huge strides in a very short time and expect her to do well with Tara. Best of luck to her!

The link works great.

Things of note in the opening few minutes. Horston jumped to open the game. Boston is strong in the paint and USA can’t get any momentum going because of turnovers. Two separate players have stepped on the right side line off a pass.

Zia Cooke is instant electricity off the bench!!!

Celeste Taylor, Zia Cooke, & Charisma Osborne really changed things defensively off the bench for team USA.

Osborne over shooting a bit out there

I have the same opinion of Jones. She is trying to do too much. Belibi (while athletic) needs to make smarter plays. She threw the ball down court and it was knocked out of bounds when Hailey Van Lith was standing right behind her. She should have just handed her the ball.

Horston with a heck of a pass in the post on the breakaway but Belibi missed the layup.
