but it's still not the point: not to develop a 2nd 5, but to develop a couple of players who can play with the starters. The reserves play the UConn starters every day. This shouldn’t be a problem for them

The strategy seems to be to just pass it to Z. Of course with each pass around the court there's the chance it is bobbled and turned over before getting it into Z down low.Well Stevens and Walker at least getting to the free throw line. Not exactly fair to them having them in there with Bent and Coombs.
Sorry, but Gabby doesn't do anything in slow motionI thought she traveled on the previous one (from the left side), as she adjusted her feet for a right foot lift off. But I'd have to see it again in slo mo...
She got the ball in an awkward place.OK Azura- stop traveling..
With half a season of UConn experience, Z is leading the huddles.Azura thinking, "Aww man; why do I get to be the one to chaperone them?"
edit: anyway, my backseat, zero-experience, non-coaching opinion is, "If they're unable to comport themselves properly with regard to the starters, why not have them compete against each other?" Leave some small but reasonable amount of minutes for bench players throughout the game, but make it clear that UConn will happily switch up the minutes from one bench player to the next until the actual good ones start showing something. But then, I'm not the HOF coach, I'm just a guy talking nonsense in a forum.
I think Geno intimidates the crap out of her.I don't understand almost any decision Bent makes on the court. I thought her BB IQ was so high when I watched her at Tabor.
