If Daniels continues to produce when he gets a chance, I expect he will get more playing time as well. Coach Penders has shown this tendency in the past to play productive players.

RHP starting for FAU on Sunday (Del Prado). Wouldn't be surprised if Daniels is in the starting lineup as a Dan Hurley.

All of UConn's runs were scored with 2 outs, not scoring before 2 outs gives the coaching staff agita, sound familiar? But they did come through. Offense limited the strikeouts as well.

Coach Penders says Daniels did a really nice job. A number of guys on the bench also deserving of some playing time as well according to Coach Penders, including Paul Tammaro who is having unbelievable practices. These bench guys just need to wait for their opportunity, and then do something with it when they get the chance.
 
Love seeing Daniels getting opportunity to start and bat 6th. Hope he takes advantage of this chance.

Ryan Hyde seems to have become the personal catcher for Andrew Sears. Hyde has caught Sears every weekend so far.

With Simmons out of the lineup, that opens up a spot for additional experimentation with the lineup in getting playing time for bench players. Also helps that that both Freeberger and Smith are very flexible on where they can play out in the field.

Also, taking a weekend series on the first 2 days makes it a bit easier to experiment a bit with the lineup.
 
Top 1st, after the Freeberger homer, UConn gets 2 runners on base, but they are left on the corners. 2-0 UConn.
