Really good series win. Get greedy tomorrow.
Thanks @dbmill. I was too wrapped up in the hockey game to try to watch both!Bottom 9th, a leadoff triple off of Quinn. Justin Willis coming in to pitch.
Willis first pitch hits the first batter he faces, putting runners at the corners. Willis strikes out the next 3 batters to end the game, UConn wins 5-1. UConn with the weekend series win, the first one it has gotten this season.
The Ohio State team that gave us so much trouble week 1 just beat the heck out of mississippi state tonight.
A lot of hard contact today. I have been a major critic of this offense, but today is more bad luck apart from Huber’s disappointing double play (he kind of atoned for it with the glove in the bottom half of the inning).
Think Daniels is gonna get more playing time…
RHP starting for FAU on Sunday (Del Prado). Wouldn't be surprised if Daniels is in the starting lineup as a DH.If Daniels continues to produce when he gets a chance, I expect he will get more playing time as well. Coach Penders has shown this tendency in the past to play productive players.
“When call upon, have that slow heart beat and deliver”
Is it really asking too much to think that UConn’s PR people, having misspelled “Smith” last night, wouldn’t have done it a second time?
Ryan Hyde seems to have become the personal catcher for Andrew Sears. Hyde has caught Sears every weekend so far.
With Simmons out of the lineup, that opens up a spot for additional experimentation with the lineup in getting playing time for bench players. Also helps that that both Freeberger and Smith are very flexible on where they can play out in the field.
