Top 6th, Broadhurst with a lead off single, steals 2B on a pick off attempt, moves to 3B on a fly ball for the 1st out. Broadhurst scores on an infield error. 2-1 UConn. Freeberger follows with a double to drive in Morton, 3-1 UConn with 1 out. Huber follows with a 1 out rbi double (second double of the night for Huber), 4-1 UConn. Padilla with a 2 out rbi single, 5-1 UConn.

Chris Jones early in the game was talking about FAU having very good pitching and hitting, but there one real weakness is their fielding. That weakness has certainly shown up in this game.

NO. Huber's just stepping into the box on the video feed. Sigh.

Top 7th, a scoreless inning for the UConn offense, UConn had 2 runners on base with 1 out, but the inning ends with a double play. 5-1 UConn.

Bottom 7th, after a 1 out single, Cooke comes out of the game. Fogell takes the mound for the Huskies, three lefty hitters are due up for FAU.

Bottom 7th, Fogell gets one out, then gives up a 2 out walk to put 2 runners on base, they advance a base on a wild pitch. After Fogell throws 2 balls to the next batter, and then is taken out of the game in mid count. Devin Kirby in to pitch. A double drives in 2 runs, 5-3 UConn. The next batter gets a fly out to CF to end the inning.

UConn threatening here in the 8th. It would be nice to get those two runs back. Bases loaded, no one out.

Top 8th, UConn loads the bases with no outs with 2 hit by pitches sandwiched around a Huber single. With 1 out, Studley is also hit by a pitch which brings in a run to make it 6-3 UConn. Garbowski hits into a double play to end the inning.

Garbo really struggling with the stick. A crooked number would have been huge for momentum and some breathing space for this pen

Bottom 8th, Drew Kron replaces Simmons in CF, who was hit by a pitch on his hand the previous inning. I saw Kron play in Norwich last summer, he is a quality defender.

After a leadoff double, Kirby comes out, and Brady Afthim takes the mound.

Chris Jones says Jack Sullivan did not make this trip so he will not start tomorrow, hoping he will be able to make the spring break trip. Not sure if he is hurt, but it sounds like it.

Bottom 8th, a 1 out rbi single makes the score 6-4 UConn. Afthim then gets a double play to end the inning.

Top 9th, UConn offense goes down in order, 6-4 UConn.

Justin Willis takes the mound to start the bottom of the 9th.

We are playing a little better after the rough baseball against tOSU. Good win, but our starting pitching depth will be put to the test.

With T.C. Simmons getting hit by a pitch on his hand, he might not be able to play tomorrow. Drew Kron replaced him in CF late in the game. Guessing Niko Brini might get a start in the outfield tomorrow if Simmons can't play.

Simmons/Kirby dinged up… more to come after eval.

I was wondering why Devin Kirby came out so quickly last night, I wasn't thinking a possible injury at the time.

Also, praise for Bryan Padilla in this interview.
